I slip into my pajamas and sit in my bed with my sketchbook on the page that holds the moonlit image of the Jolly Roger. Emma had my mind thinking, could I look into a vision I already had? I had never wanted to explore this ability, but everyone seemed scared of this Killian Jones. I know I can't fight and have no powerful magic, but if I could gain insight into the future, surely that could be useful to those who can fight. Taking my eyes away from the paper, I glance up at the moon out of my window, pondering if this was even a good idea. At the end of the day, what is there to lose? If nothing happens, then I just risk looking stupid to myself in my bedroom.
I look down again at the image once more and remember what Henry told me when I arrived here "The most powerful magic is believing in yourself". With an air of caution, I place my hand on the image of the Jolly Roger, letting out a tense sigh I didn't know I was holding. In my head, I asked the page to show me more, and within seconds I felt a shock of electricity jolt through my arm and into the page. The lights in the house started flickering, and then they started surging in and out. The world was going quiet, but I could hear Emma calling my name as she started running up the stairs to find me.
"(Y/n)! What on earth is happ... holy shit"
I saw my door swing open, and then suddenly, I wasn't there anymore.
*****
You know that feeling when your dream feels so real that you can reach and touch it? This was that feeling. A lucid dream I couldn't escape. I'm brought back into my situation by the sound of crashing waves, not the calm crashing waves of the ocean on the sand but the loud crashing sounds of the ocean in a storm. Beneath my feet, floorboards. Above my head, sails. Given the situation, I will assume this is the Jolly Roger. I try to reach out to hold myself steady, but my hand falls straight through. So I'm not here, valuable information.
"Looks like my visions can be developed", I muttered to myself as I took in my surroundings. "I might as well take advantage and see what I can find here". On the other side of the ship, I see a small man in a red hat taking orders off... who is that? Why is the dream not clear there? All I see is the man in a red hat, another figure that just looks like smudged ink, and a muffled conversation.
"Aye, Captain," The small red-hatted man said to the inky blob before calling out to the crew. "Oi, lads! Captains orders. Set course for Storybrooke. We pull into the port in 2 days. Get to work!" The men then scattered around the deck, mumbling their yeses and agreements. It was clear from their responses that this red-hatted man was named Smee, and he had a close relationship with the captain, who I am assuming is Killian Jones. Why can't I see him? They would be arriving in two days; at least, that was something to tell them when I woke up. If I wake up.
Given the moon's placement, I was watching the ship in real-time. So, while I'm here, I need to find out what the crew of the Jolly Roger had in store for their trip to Storybrooke. Where better to look than the captain's quarters? If Killian Jones wants to visit, there is something in there that will tell us why. I make my way over to the captain's door and try to put my hand through it as I did with the side of the deck earlier but touching it just throws a bolt of electricity through my body.
"Owch, that wasn't pleasant", I muttered as I tried again to get the same result. "Come on (y/n), you're dreaming; how hard can this be?" I tried once more to push through with my whole body, but the shock that got me threw me back onto the ship's deck, knocking me flat out into the darkness.

When my eyes opened again, I was back in my dark room, Emma shaking my shoulders. Her phone was on a loudspeaker, and I could just register Regina's voice speaking. It was all very muffled, and my body felt like it was on fire. I am never doing that again.
"(y/n)! You're awake! What the hell just happened!?" Emma's frantic questions pierced my ears as I slowly returned to reality.
"I think I was on the Jolly Roger?" I whispered. "They'll be here in two days", I warned.
"You think? You can't miss Killian. Tall, covered in leather, captain of the thing." Emma stated matter of factly, trying to gauge my reaction to her words. I took a deep breath and moved myself to sit in the bed, the fire in my limbs slowly being put out by the cold air in my room. I looked over and shrugged at Emma, who seemed less concerned now; she could see I was okay.
"That's the thing. I couldn't see the captain. He was a blur, like an ink splatter on a page. Did I see a man named Smee? I tried to get into the captain's quarters, but it was like there was a barrier. I couldn't see or hear anything about the captain of that ship. The electricity would shock me the second I got close to him, and now I'm... here again" I couldn't help but sound slightly disappointed. The sound of the sea and the breeze were terrific. The electricity? Not so much. But if nothing else, I knew we had 48 hours to prepare, and I had a deep intrigue into Captain Killian Jones that I was sure could lead to that adventure I was looking for.
"Right." Emma's tone was flat; she knew something was wrong. I knew something was wrong. "Get some sleep (y/n). And this time, try not to do whatever it is you did" She gestured around the room with flailing arms. "I'm going to try and fix the circuit board, or at least call Leroy in the morning to come and fix it," She said softly as she left the room and closed the door behind herself. Finally, it was peaceful here again. Not that Emma was chaotic, but there is something about the silence in a room, knowing that you're not under obligation to do anything. You can just breathe.
With slight hesitation, I placed my sketchbook on my bedside table and pulled my covers up to my chin. Since the fire in my body had gone out, the cold had rushed to take its place. I know that sleep would be the best thing for me right now, but my curiosity over Killian was the only thing in my head. Why could I not see him? Why couldn't I walk into his room on the ship? I know that it was my first time drifting into this new way of seeing visions, but surely this was out of place. I could only think of one person that would be able to give me answers, but even his name made my skin crawl. Rumplestiltskin. It was easier not to think about that man. I closed my eyes and drifted off into deep, meaningless sleep.
