So they left both groups and went off and started looking for IT the clown. It was hard to find him, it was like he was hiding from them like he knew they were looking. They didn't know why he would hide from them but they couldn't think of any other reason he would be hiding. It's like he knew their plan and thought he could avoid it by hiding until we stopped looking for him. It was getting dark. Everyone was tired. They kept looking and checking on each other's group to see if they found the clown but no luck it was like he was gone.
They met up at the park and talked about if they found him or anything. Hailey and the old man said they saw footprints and followed them but then that disappeared out of nowhere. They thought it was creepy but didn't expect less from a dancing clown with powers.The plan had failed but they decided to go home and get some sleep and meet back up tomorrow afternoon and start looking where the footprints stopped. Before they left they made a promise with the old man to not be late and to show up no matter what. The next day Sam called everyone up early in the morning telling them that she saw IT across the street staring at the house like he was waiting for them to come out. Everyone ran to see if he was still there. They thought they could still do the plan and just tell the old man about it later.
When they got to the front door and opened it they didn't see him. Everyone thought Sam might have been seeing things because of what happened to her legs. Sam swore to them that It was really there but didn't have proof. They asked her if she had been having dreams about IT or seen him standing in random places like this before. Sam told them that she has but was scared to tell them because she thought they would think she was crazy. They told her it was ok and that she could tell them anything and that it was important exactly if it's about the clown.
They left to meet with the old man at the park so they could begin searching for the clown again. When they got to the park the old man wasn't there. He made a promise to them that he wouldn't be late and to show up no matter what . They started to think he broke his promise and didn't show. Billy thought they should wait and see if he would come; he thought the old man forgot. They weren't mad because he was old and old people forget lots of things sometimes so they waited til dark. Once they saw no one show they went home to think of a new plan since the man left. Billy stood up out of nowhere and said that he didn't think the old man quit on them. He thought IT kidnapped him because of the plan. They sat down and talked about how it might be a possibility because the clown was hiding from them yesterday when they were trying to find him. They decided to keep the same plan but instead of two groups it would be one group with three people. They each got a pocket knife, flashlight, and walkie talkies just in case they would get split up.
They went to sleep and the next morning they were ready to leave. As they were walking out the door David said he didn't want to leave Sam in the house alone. Sam told them that she was fine and that she stayed home alone plenty of time and that she wasn't afraid. David reminded them about how she has nightmares about the clown and how she thinks about it all day long. Billy and Hailey agreed so they were going to let Sam stay with David's mom until they got back from looking for the clown. He had to tell his mom that they were going somewhere wheelchairs weren't allowed to go in. No one thought his mom would believe it but she said she had got in a car crack and broken both her legs when she was younger and there were places that didn't let her in because of her wheelchair.Since that didn't have to worry about Sam being alone they were ready but everyone decided to stay home and leave tomorrow because it was already late.
The next day they took Sam to David's house with his mom then they left and started looking for IT and the old man. Hailey showed them were her and the old man saw the footprints last time they went looking. When they got to where the footprints were they didn't only see one set of footprints but two sets of footprints. So they followed them up to the last one that stopped at a big dark cave. David grabbed his flashlight and cut it on ready to go in but Hailey was scared to go in so they walked to get Sam then went back to her house.
When they got back to Sam's house they told her what happened. She asked the boys why they didn't drop Hailey off with her and David's mom. They told her that was the plan but on the way they realized that it would be dark by time they dropped her off. They all decided to drop both of the girls off with David's mom and the boys go check out the cave. This time David told his mom that the girls wanted a girls day out tomorrow and his mom agreed. She said she always wanted a girl but had three boys instead so she was happy to take them out and do girly stuff for a whole day. The girls thought it would be a fun activity but the guys didn't really care they just wanted to know what was in the cave.
