Present Day Australia
THE GROUP OF ETERNALS finally landed in what seemed like the middle of nowhere Australia, Leo really hadn't dressed appropriately for this. The group noticed a dead deviant up ahead and Leo went straight up to it.
" This is the Deviant you fought in London?" Kingo asked Leo as he went up to the deviant as well.
"No, it's different" Leo said looking up towards Sersi who looked at him worried.
"There must be more of them out there than we thought." Ikaris added on.
As the group made it closer to the home of Gil and Thena, Kingo ushered Karun to pull his camera out.
"You're about to meet two of the greatest warriors the world has ever known. Thena, legendary, deadly, fashionable. And her trusty friend." Kingo stopped and queued Karun to start filming the door before continuing with the over the top introduction "a mighty powerhouse of strength, the fearsome Gilgamesh!" There was no answer as Ikaris knocked on the door, Kingo waited an extra second and then again shouted "Gilgamesh!" As he did the door opened revealing Gil.
"What took you so long?" Gil questioned as he swatted the camera away from him, he walked down towards past the Eternals and towards what Leo assumes is the kitchen. "You look younger today, Sprite."
"I have the same apron." Karun chuckled, this made Gilgamesh turn around finally noticing the lone mortal.
"Who the hell are you?" Gilgamesh questioned making Leo huff a small laugh.
"Oh, valet. Like Alfred in Batman." Gilgamesh responded while stirring a pot. This conversation was getting very off track quickly, Leo thought.
"Gilgamesh. The deviants are back" Ikaris cut the conversation.
"I think he knows that Ikaris." Leo retorted pointing to the dead deviant they had just walked past. "Leo, still the smart one I see. I could have used some help, you know." Gilgamesh responded looking at Ikaris.
"We were attacked by a deviant in London, too." Sprite cut in. "Even Ikaris couldn't kill it." Sersi continued. Leo laughed at that, it really wasn't saying much.
"I was distracted," Ikaris said, trying to defend himself.
"Sure, man." Gilgamesh said letting out a hearty laugh that Leo began to mirror. "Hey, you guys want to try our pie?" Gil questioned as the laughter between the two died down. The pie did look delicious Leo would admit. Gil made a perfect house husband.
"I'm sorry Gil." Ikaris started, Leo prepared for him to drop the news knowing that the eternal would not take it well. "Ajak's dead." He finished. Gilgamesh looked gutted, it pained Leo to see him like that. Gilgamesh let the pie fall and Leo frowned. He watched as the strongest eternal sat on the chair, he went to step behind him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"She was so proud of you Gil." Leo whispered to him as he wrapped his arm around the larger man. Gilgamesh looked at Leo and gave him a small smile.
"You really are the best of us Leo." This made Leo tear up, he smiled at the man he was hugging.
"I'm sorry I didn't visit more often" Leo responded, Gil scoffed at this.
"You are a busy man Lee, the weekly facetime calls were enough. I'm guessing you didn't make it to that Vogue shoot then?" Gilgamesh jokes.
"No. But it's fine, maybe they'll understand once we finish saving the world." Leo responded , giving Gil a pat on the back and standing up separating from him.
"What is Thena doing?" Sersi questioned, staring at the distance.
" Sersi. The attack triggered her. She's no fun to be around right now." Gilgamesh explained. But none of the Eternals seemed to care as they walked towards Thena.
"Hey, Thena. Look who's here. Give me your hand. Thena." Gil approached Thena delicately, Leo was still on high alert. Rightfully so it seemed, as Thena spun around and attacked Gil who was already prepared for the strike. The two fought a bit before Sprite used her magic to calm Thena down.
Once Thena had regained her senses she directed her attention to the group that was behind Gil, they all waved awkwardly at Thena who looked at them in disbelief.
"Hello"
A/N i'm sorry ik this is short i just knew that i wouldn't update tomorrow and i wanted to update every other ish day so here's this to fill that in. we're also getting close to the druig and leo reunion so i'm excited for that
