It's been a month. A month since I watched the police drag away my mother. I don't miss her, believe me. It was her fault, she screwed up her life. And mine.

It's been a month. A month since I was taken to the hospital. I wasn't sick or dying, I was already dead. Its been a month. A month since I laid, strapped to a stretcher in an ambulance, watching the police drag away my mother for trying to beat me to death.

A month, and I'm already going to a new school, in a new town, in a new state. Granted Graham,North Dakota is only a state over from Pierre, South Dakota, I still didn't know anyone there.

I stood in the bathroom looking at my bare reflection in the full length mirror. Most of the bruises have faded but it looks like I'll still be wearing long sleeves for awhile. I sigh and gently pull my clothes on over my sore muscles.

A Month.

A/N: Ok, so I know this is really short but bare with me. I was still pretty new at writing when I started this. I promise the next chapter will be longer and hopefully better.
