You keep walking on the straight line, they drew for you, and all of a sudden, there's a candy shop and you swerve left to it, oh and then there's that fast food restaurant and you go right and oh, there's a place with stuff you always wanted to try just because you were not allowed and so you go all over. What initially started out to be a line is now a hexagon, now a triangle, and now that I think about it, I think we are just going around in circles,
confusing? What can I say?
Life is one hell of a HeckTangle.

Hi, I am an author. Psychology is a field that has always fascinated me for some weird reason but that doesn't mean my 20-year-old self found herself sitting in the psycologist's office by her own will as she lazily looked at the peach curtains with disgust. That day, she wasn't alone.

The guy sitting to the far right, next to the large glass window, who smiled at her every once in ten seconds was forced to keep her company or maybe the other way around. She knew him. But he probably did not know her, she wasn't popular enough but he was, just not for the right reasons. She would usually spark a conversation but that day, she wasn't feeling like herself. She was sitting in the psychologist's office just because her grades hadn't improved and her parents thought that her recent outbursts were not 'normal'. She had spent a fair amount of her teenage years being their perfect daughter until one day she got herself a boyfriend that her family did not approve of. They had her future planned out for her, any bug in the major design shall be eradicated. By eradicated, I mean.. just gone. One day he was there and the next.. she just didn't see him for the next few years.

In school, they have been calling her Talia for as long as she could remember, Mom and Dad called her Elly and that's one part of my name she did not like to be called with. But when the therapist pushed a sheet of paper towards her, she had to fill it with Talia Elizabeth McKenzie because Dad gets mad when she used LZ and Mom thought it was the initials of some guy she liked.
Elizabeth,
El z,
LZ, how hard is that to relate?

"Teenage is a phase when one assumes everything in their head is right." the therapist told her with a calm note after she had just told him that there was nothing wrong with her and that she had no reason to be consulting him except for the fact that her parents have gone old school insane.

"That's not true," she answered calmly, it was what was expected of her.

"And you think you are right?"

"Hell, yea!"

"There you go," he smirked with contentment. Oh, shoot! She had confirmed his point. He seemed to be good at his job but she did not think he could do much to 'change' her. She knew she was not in the wrong. We are all sometimes just misunderstood.

"Well, let's see. I heard you are good at tutoring?" was the first question the psychologist asked as he entered after rushing off to a patient's ward and there she was in an asylum, she thought, but she said, "Yep." and just smiled. I won't lie, she is a lie, the entire existence of the smiling person he was watching is a lie. A lie no professional can decipher, a lie she believed in. The psychologist tilted his head to the guy behind, "Dex? Can you bring me those files?"

Dexton dragged his boots with a grunt as he reached out for what he had been asked for. "She can tutor me if looking at the files and pairing her up with someone was what you were going for," he said as he looked to the Doctor who gave him a death glare for being mocked about his same old repeated method of approach. Dexton let out an easy laugh and sent a wink her way.
"Um, Miss. McKenzie, let's talk more in the next visit." the Doctor is clearly annoyed at Dexton. Heh. Why did she like it?
Annoyed people are fun to watch.

She looked at Dexton and gave him a genuine smile.

She liked the dude.
