Circles: The Script

You Need Me.

Madison: *Stands and stares in disbelief.*

Jack: " What..? you know it's fucking true " *laughing*

Madison: *Stares* "First of all, Jack. I got you here. I got you here. into this position in your life, so don't you dare ever talk down to me like that again. I am fucking tired of it when I could easily manage without you. I have millions more than you do. I do not need you. And I do not need to put up with this or your foul personality anymore."

*Madison grabs her phone and jacket off of the kitchen counter and makes her way towards the front door where Jack is still standing.*

*Jack moves towards her as she tries to leave and grabs her wrist tight enough to leave a bruise and presses himself up close to her, he is much taller and physically stronger than her so has the advantage.*

Jack: *Gets close to her ear and angrily talks to her through his teeth.*

"You do need me, Madison. I know you do. You're pathetic. You constantly need people to tell you you're not worthless. You need people to believe it. You need everything about your life to look perfect so that you don't feel like a nobody."

*He tightens his grip.*

"You. need. me."

Madison : *Trying not to cry while struggling to get away from his hands that were now touching her waist. she eventually breaks free and runs to the car and drives away fighting tears.*

*Shot cuts back to the present tense. Freddie walks in on her sitting at the edge of the bed with her head in her hands. He knows instantly it's something Jack has done.*

Freddie: *Walks toward her* "Hey Mads.. What's-"

Madison: *Kisses him harshly as soon as he walks in and tries to keep doing so when he puts a hand on her face and pulls her away to check if she is alright. She then bursts into tears.* 

"H-he Hurts me.."

Freddie: "I know he does...I'm sorry.."

*Shows a concerned and upset look on his face as he holds her closer*

*Madison is unable to calm down and just hugs Freddie crying for a long time before he picks her up and takes her to the door and walks her back to his house where he can take better care of her.

Shot changes from them walking with Madison leaning on him for support, to Freddie tucking Madison into bed in a (somehow vacant) room and him about to go and sleep on the sofa in another room.*

Madison: *Sleepily*

"No.. Stay. Please-?"

Freddie: "You sure..?"

Madison: "I- I get.. nightmares when this stuff happens.. Please stay.."

Freddie: *Gestures towards the floor* "You want me to sleep-?"

Madison: "No."

Freddie: "You wanna talk ab-"

Madison: "No."

*Freddie looks worried *

Madison: "Tomorrow..?"

*Freddie quietly gets into the single bed and Madison comes closer to hug him. He carefully puts his arm around her and falls asleep too. Before falling asleep he is surprised she isn't bothered about the lack of space like she usually would be. As they are both asleep the camera pans to Madisons silent phone. It has been blowing up with both nasty and overly "nice" manipulative messages from Jack.*

*Freddie wakes up to Madison sat on the edge of the bed. She's shaking a bit and holding her phone Freddie has never seen her like this before.*

Freddie: " Hey.." * reaches for her shoulder * " Mads..?"

Madison: *Has not noticed Freddie, camera pans to her still staring at the messages and shaking, she is also struggling with her breathing. The camera moves in closer towards the phone, switching between it and her face. A Sharp intense buzzing sound has appeared in he background. It gradually gets louder.*

Some of Jack's messages:

This is ridiculous.

You're such a pathetic bitch. I barely touched you.

Madison if you don't come back by the morning i'm calling the police.

Look, I'm sorry okay?

Is that what you want to hear?

That's it. I've contacted David.

Madison, baby. I'm sorry. I was drunk. I wasn't thinking.

David's pissed. Says you've got something important going on tomorrow.

For fuck sake come back. No one cares about your clearly desperate cries for attention anymore. It's fucking sad.

I was wrong okay? Come back home.

You need me.

Come back. Now.

*Sound builds and gets louder.*

Freddie: " Madison! "

Madison: *Jumps*

"Oh!" *Forces a smile and tries to force herself to stop shaking too*

" I'm sorry.." *Puts her phone face down on the bedside*

Freddie: " What's going on Mads..? "

Madison: "Oh.. Nothing! What do you mean?"

Freddie: "Madison.. You're.. here.".

Madison: *Looks around. Sees something gross and tries to ignore it * "So..?" *Shrugs*

Freddie: "...Mads.. Somethings happened. I know it did. I knew from the moment I walked in.."

Madison: "No. Freddie. I just needed sex.. And then.." *Winces at the memory of what happened.*

Freddie: *Looks visibly hurt for a second and then brushes it off because he needs to know what happened *

Madison: *Looks as if she's going to cry again* " I've spent years.. with him and.. he just never loved me.. I don't think he ever loved me.. I'm so stupid.."

Freddie: "... I'm sorry... you're not stupid."

* takes her hand and notices the bruising on her wrist and then her hip *

"Madison... What- happened..? "

Madison: * silence *

Freddie: "Please.."

Madison: *Stares at the bruises on her wrist for a second.*

"You won't tell anyone..?"

Freddie: "If.. that's..what you want.." *Looks defeated.*

Madison: *Quickly* "It is."

Freddie: *Looks at her concerned as she continues to explain. Then there are contrasting shots from the past and present - Jack and Madison in her house fighting etc. and Freddie and Madison in the present talking as Madison's voice can still be heard throughout. The camera pans further away and out of the window slowly showing more of Freddie's house and contrasts with far away shots of Madison and Jack's old house. Final shots include Jack pacing/sitting alone in Madison's house and Freddie's reactions as Madison is finishing her explanation.  

Freddie: *Finally speaks.*

"I'm going to fucking kill him."
