Meeting Them

Reader's P.O.V (First Person)

As I was standing there gathering enough confidence to enter the building, I did not notice another person, or two, exit their limo. I didn't even realize that they were coming closer. It wasn't until I heard their voices that I snapped out of thought.

"Um, hello?" one of them says while waving a hand in front of my face.

"Who are you?" I question.

"He is Hikaru," said one of them pointing to the other.
"And he's Kaoru. What are you doing here?" says the one I now know as Hikaru.

Oh my gosh! Another pair of twins! People who have had the same problems as me! I wonder if they have a better relationship than what my sister and I have. Since I'm new, I don't think I will mention Yuki to anybody.

I try and take notice of any possible differences between the two because I know what it's like to be mistaken for my other. The only thing I can find to separate them is a slight change in the way their voice sounds and possibly the direction of the part in their hair.

". . . My name is (y/n). I'm a new transfer student. I need some help getting to the main office."

"We could lead you there."-K
"Follow us."-H

I walk closely behind them as they lead me across the lawn and into the doors of my new school. I start to lose my breath as I walk through what seems like a labyrinth of hallways. My pace starts to slow and I begin to slightly pant.

The twins seem to notice and slow down for me until I catch up, almost to the point where I was leading them to the office. I notice that I'm starting to get a little nervous. Then they both grab one of my hands and speed up.

"We're almost there."-H
"Just a few more turns now." -K

They were right, just a few more turns and I was there.

I stepped through the wide open doors with 'Main Office' painted in fancy letters above. Inside there were multiple female secretaries dressed in expensive business clothes scrambling to get their paperwork done.

I sort of felt underdressed because I wasn't wearing school uniform. My family and I just didn't have the money. Instead, I bought a few yellow dresses that were simple in design and around $6 each.

I walked up to the counter and one of them stood up.

"Watcha' need hun."
"I'm the new student, (y/n). I came to get a paper copy of my schedule," I reply.
"Hold on justa minute."

The lady came over to one of the computers and typed in some words. A few seconds later, the copy machine whirred and out popped a freshly printed paper. She picked it up and handed it to me, still warm.

"Here ya go."
"Thanks."

I turn around, completely forgetting that the twins were there, and jumped.

"We waited for you."-K
"Hey! Let's play a game. If you win, we'll show you to your classes."-H
"But if you lose, you're on your own for finding them."-K
"Sure. I'll play. What game is it and how do we play?" I say.
"It's called the 'Which One is Hikaru Game?'."-H
"Just guess which one of us is Hikaru."-K

They do a small dance to try and ruin any possible chance I have of choosing the correct person. I wait for a few moments to think. I had to choose wisely or I was never going to find my classes.

"Well, which one of us are you going to choose? Him on the left-"
"Or him on the right."

That was all the hint I needed, the sound of his voice. I point to the boy on the right.

"You're Hikaru!"
"Wrong!"-H
"I'm Hikaru."-K
"We'll still show you to your classes though."-H

How could I have guessed wrong?

They grab my schedule from my hands.

"First period: French."-K
