Chapter 7: "Bloodlust"

Start from the beginning

My mind slowly wandered off and my bloodlust grew to the point my body moved on its own. Slaughtering off every male possible, in all ways one could think of. There was not a single spot on my body left where no blood splatter was located.

The end of my killing spree came way too early. I was standing in the middle of the main road, motionless looking into the sky, breathing relaxed. Around me were corpses and separated limbs of men every age.

*That should be enough for the next week*

I thought. The teste of fresh flesh was still lingering on my tongue, reminding me of the meal I had not long ago.

My ears twitched a little, because of a quiet whimper.

*Did I forget one?*

Following the sound I got behind a hut and found a boy, not even 3 years old, cowering behind a wood block. The hiding attempt was ridiculous.

"Come out it's over." I told him.

His teary eyes looked up at my form. With a short moment of hesitation the boy stood up and came towards me.

*Such a naïve creature, only seeing the good in all and everything.*

I crouched to his height and stroke his hair. Then my grip tightened around his tiny head and I twisted it till a satisfying crack was heard. The body instantly fell to the ground.

*Weak and pathetic creatures.*

Continuing my tonight's journey, in search for a new city I could destroy I sped off.

*This already took too long, I got carried away with it.*

Some time passed and eventually a village was in sight.

After passing an alleyway an odd familiar scent reached my sensitive nose. I couldn't point out from where I knew this smell, but it was somewhat... calming?

*What, or better question, who is this?*

Curiously I followed the smell and came to a halt when it ended only some feet away. *here is nothing* I thought and got the feeling, that this was just my imagination playing tricks on me. This was weird because I can always rely on my senses.

As my feet began moving forward again something in the snow stopped me. Looking down, there was a little raise in the snow, which I first though was the work of some tiny humans. Crouching down next to this thing and brushing away some of the freshly fallen snow I was able to tell that this was a person lying on the ground. I freed the shoulder of someone.

Normally this wouldn't interest me in the slightest but as the scent was saved in my memories, I wanted to know who this might be.

Without a second thought I reached into the snow under the form and pull it into the air. The blanked got torn open and uncovered a black haired women whom looked dead. My eyes widened, scanning the mesmerizing and memorized features of this human. Without a doubt, the image of her burned itself into my brain, haunting me since the day I saved her. Never once able to completely forget or focus on anything without her in behind all my thoughts.

Black hair, once tied into a ponytail, was hanging loose, section wise even frozen, daring to break at the lightest touch. The lids closed, covering bright blue shining eyes, the eyelashes were long and full but covered by little snowflakes. The once lively skin turned blue and almost black in the limbs. Cheek's pale as the moon and lips purple as a whisteria flower.

Her body was seemingly unwounded, no indicator to her situation visible. My mind was blank, nearly shocked from seeing a corpse even though causing the death of hundred others. An unpleasant or uncomfortable feeling bubbled inside my stomach making me unable to move for some seconds, only scanning without blinking even once.

In my head there were thousands of thoughts, screaming to let her fall and continue with my plan, *why am I indecisive now?*

Then there it was a short and nearly unnoticeable movement of her mouth to breathe in. It was low and slow but that ridiculous tiny action of her made this sick feeling in my stomach falter. Everything happened in the blink of an eye and was just my body reacting to her. I scooped her up and made my way toward my starting point of this night. *I highly doubt that we can make it there before sunrise...*

I didn't understand my motive to try and save this thing again but my instincts were forcing me and even my mind silenced with the demands of letting her go the moment she showed a vital sign.

*How often does she even have to nearly die?!*

A sigh escaped my mouth and my speed increased, trying not to cause her any more harm but also to get to the destination soon enough.

Looking down for a brief moment and noticing her now blood stained clothing. A moment before there was not a sight of a wound on her. My glace shifted the second after this thought. My hands. It were my hands, still drenched in the blood of freshly killed humans. Some spots were dry, building on top of each other, different layers of different blood from different victims. Some were sticky or liquidy, mixing with one another, mixing a whole new shade of red and slowly solidifying to add to the whole painting on my body. I painted her.

Not to imagine how my whole appearance must be considering the outrage of tonight. The perfect image of the monster I am.
