Chapter 7: "Bloodlust"

Start from the beginning

My hand reached to the Shoji-paper, the only thing separating the prey from the hunter. With a short movement of my arm I ripped the paper and made myself visible for the frightened couple.

In my mind I was furious, seeing a man like a coward, not even trying to safe his and the life of his wife. He had time to become a strong fighter, but instead he chose to live his whole existence in fear and at the mercy of others. On my features a big grin appeared while approaching the two.

*At least an easy meal.*

"W-What do you w-want from us?!"

He was finally able to speak again after his shock of the intruder. Shacking voice indicating his frightened state.

"We don't have any money." He stated a little more confident.

"Do I look like I want money?" My voice was cold, distant and strong. Alone with this sentence I could see his body stiffen once again. His wife beside trembled and through her eyes I could see only fear.

I took some steps again and the men moved his body in front of his wife, both their breathings uneven and their heartbeat quickened.

"Don't touch my wife!"

"I wasn't planning on doing that."

After that I could see both relaxing a little bit, tension leaving their body as if the thread was already overcome. They looked at each other with tears in their eyes, happy because hope was once again a word in their mind. Ignorant and dumb enough to ignore me for the fraction of a second, my hand grabbed the hair of the men. With little to no effort I pull him up.

"Head or stomach?"

Confused he looked at me, no emotion visible for him in my eyes. His hesitated breaths came out shakier.

"Head..."

The instant reaction to his answer was, letting go of his hair and making a harsh punch right into his face. Not even caring about holding back at this moment. The body of him flew meters away through the wooden wall of the house an crashed against another one, where he slumped to the ground. Blood seeped out of the deformed head, his face was no longer identifiable because it was pushed inward and nearly formed a hole through his skull. The red liquid soaked into the snow.

A deafening scream came from beside me, but I wasn't willing on giving her the tiniest bit of attention. My form stepped out of the hole in the wall and moved to the next stop.

"YOU MONSTER!" Her words didn't faze me one bit, view not once leaving my destination.

With a push of my feet I already stood in the room with the target. A young boy around 14 years old, looking like he just awoke from a peaceful slumber. I choose not to exchange words and charged at him. My fist collided with his abdomen and broke through his skin layers. He screamed and locked eyes with me, his last sight, burning the image into his brain. His loud cries for help slowly got substituted by a bubbling sound, most likely because blood filled his mouth, slowly drowning him. I drag my hand out of his body and took entrails with me.

His father stormed through the door into the room. The sight he got, sent his heart straight to his pants, color left his face and he could only stare at the scene. Seeing this made him vomit and gag. I only stood there, not really caring about his emotions, but a little entertained by the show he made, just because of his son.

Forcing the head of the father onto the ground, destroying the floor in the process and smashing his skull. Brain pieces and fluid now all over the place. My hand retreated from his now slushed head. The corpses were tempting and the smell lingering in the air nearly got me intoxicated, but before I could feast I wanted to kill as many as I was able to find in this dilapidated town.
