Temperance 'Bones' Brennan

You are a forensic anthropologist that has just been newly hired by the Jeffersonian institution. What Cam doesn't know is that you and Dr Brennan know each other since childhood and haven't seen each other since high school when she left without saying goodbye and never contacted you again. You are walking into the Jeffersonian with you new ID badge and lab coat and you are greeted by Cam
C- good morning Dr.l/n
U- good morning Dr.Saroyan
C- welcome to the Jeffersonian institution let me show you around and introduce you to everyone
U- thank you
Cam shows you around and you meet hodgins, Daisy, sweets, some interns and you go upstairs to meet Angela
C- Angela please meet our newest forensic anthropologist Dr. l/n
A- l/n? As in y/n l/n
U- yes do I know you?
A- no sorry Angela Montenegro nice to meet you
You shake her hand
U- you too miss Montenegro
C- ok so there's one more person just follow me
You walk into an office and you see her the woman who you've cried over and loved for years
U- temperance?
You barely say higher than a whisper
C- I'm sorry do you know her
T- Cam, I didn't hear you, why are you in—
She looks up and sees you
T- y/n?
U- yes it's me
She goes to hug you but you push her away gently but forcefully enough to stop her action
T- what are you doing here
U- I work here now
T- really? that's amazing!
U- don't understand why you're excited it's not like you care about me anyways
T- what made you think that? Of course I care about you
U- graduation day, you left, you left me without saying goodbye or a phone call or even keeping in contact with me for years what am I supposed to think temperance
C- I'm sorry did I miss something?
U- it's nothing I can be professional about this
T- y/n we need to talk about what I did
U- no we don't you have no right to demand to talk to me after what you did
T- I understand why your angry but can we talk about this in private
She steps closer to you and you do the same
U- there's nothing to talk about temperance, we are co workers we aren't together we aren't friends we are not the same people who fell in love and was called the weird kids, I'm a woman who had their heart broken by someone that everyone told me was a bad idea to date and love but I did it anyway and I wish I didn't cause I got my heart broken and lost the person I wanted to propose to after high school graduation, the only reason I've not walked out this door and quit is cause it's the best job for my field and it's an honour to work along people like dr hodgins and dr Saroyan. We are equals you don't tell me what to do, you don't talk to me again unless it is work related cause I can't be around you without my heart breaking all over again, do you understand Temperance?
She has slight tears in her eyes after finding out about your proposal

U- Good, dr Saroyan I'm sorry you had to witness at, is there any case you would like me to start on
C- as a matter of fact there's a body on the way to the Jeffersonian as we speak

You leave
C- dr Brennan are you ok
T- yes I'm fine it's just a lot seeing her
C- I bet, I didn't know you are attracted to women
T- it's not something I keep hidden I just don't tell anybody as it isn't their business unless I'm trying to have intercourse with them or Pursue a relationship with them
C- so what happened between you too
T- we dated through high school helped me through my parents and brother leaving and me dealing going through the foster care system and I made a mistake of just leaving her waiting for me to show up at her door for a post graduation celebration date and just left early for college even though to dorms weren't available to first years yet and got my college degree and my doctorates and she did the same I'm assuming
C- are you going to apologise?
T- I will if she ever listens to me
C- wow
T- what?
C- I don't think I've ever heard you agree with anyone saying that you need to apologise to someone
T- well I'm well aware of what I did and how much pain she must of been in and might still be in because of me however there's no time as the bones have just arrived
Brennan and cam walk downstairs and they see the remains and booth
U- head trauma to the skull here and here

U- this would be cause of death however there are micro fractures on the victims hands which suggests there was a struggle so it didn't occur post mortem and have stab wounds in his stomach that punctured his lung, this man was murdered and head trauma would have occurred post Mortem

T- actually I'm going to stay here today booth
B- why cause the girl who you've been in love with since high school and still are is here and you're going to try to apologise even though she doesn't want to hear it

C- I agree
U- are you saying that at temperance's friend or our boss
C- your boss
U- fine come on then let's go to your office
You both walk to her office, she locks the door and closes the blinds
U- what do you want temperance?
T- to apologise
U- you just did it can I go?
T- no. Y/n/n I'm sorry I treated you awfully and did something that gives you a perfectly good reason to hate me. You were the most amazing person in my life and helped me more than I could even comprehend right now. High school was rough for both of us and we took comfort in each other and I regret every single day since graduation that I left. All I was thinking was get out of the place my parents abandoned me and my foster family locked me in a car trunk for two days and as soon as I got on the plane I finally relaxed and remembered I left you there. I—
U- gee thanks for that, you didn't care enough to remember you had a girlfriend that's really what I needed today Tempe thank you
T- I can tell you're being sarcastic—
U- of course I am!, I lost the one person I have ever loved and probably ever will love and to find out that she didn't even think of me until she left and never considered how I felt about you leaving, I know we were going different colleges but our relationship was strong enough for long distance and the distance wasn't as far and a lot of couples and we could of visited every weekend or so
T- y/n I still love you and I regret leaving everyday and I know it's impossible to time travel but if I could go back and do it all over again I would and I would of stayed cause I can never find someone as perfect as you are for me, you're it for me ever since we met I knew and still know you're the only one for me and I made the worst mistake causing me to loose you and I hate it's taken this long to see each other again and talk cause if I stayed we would of been married by now cause I would of said yes in a heart beat.
U- stop you can't do this not now
T- y/n—
U- no it's taken me years to move on and I finally got into a good place where I date people and you pull this Tempe you can't do that
T- y/n/n I'm sorry I really am but apparently it's beneficial to express how you feel towards someone for better or for worse as Angela has told me before as she has told me to contact you multiple times after I told her all about you but I see it was a big mistake so for the benefit of our colleagues I will be just strictly professional and won't try and talk you you about this again
U- thank you Tempe
You go to hug her for some closure and once you do neither of you want to let go you eventually pull away but you stay in close proximity and despite your better judgement you kiss her and after a few seconds you pull away
U- I shouldntve  done that I—
T- y/n why did you you are contradicting yourself  saying to only be professional then kissing me
U- just cause I said that doesn't mean I don't still love you and I ignored my better judgement and kissed you
T- you still love me?
U- of course I do but I can't be with you
T- why not I understand why you're hurt but we both love each other
U- i can't get hurt by you again

T- I understand y/n but I won't hurt you again
U- you cant guarantee that Tempe
T- I promise y/n

She smiles and you kiss her softly
