You're Y/n l/n you and your family are one of the most rich and powerful families of legacy vampires and your family is close with the Fairmonts, you like all of them except Elinor. You both met as kids and grew up together you and her were inseparable until you got to high school where you hated eachother, you have no idea what happened or why Elinor changed quickly, it hurt but after freshman year you accepted it and you hate her now cause of that and all the awful stuff she's done since. It's now been years since high school and every time you interact it ends up with people getting hurt. Today you and your family have been invited as Elinor's grandmother is there. You dress smartly and head to the fairmont mansion with your parents. You ring the bell and step back waiting for the door to open and Margot opens it.
M- hello l/n's so good to see you all again, come on in
U- hi mrs fairmont, how are you?
M- I'm doing good sweetie, how's your job going?
U- it's going great thank you I'm up for a promotion to vice president and the person im up against is no where near qualified so it should be easy to get
M- that's great y/n congratulations
U- thank you
Mom- Margot where's Elinor and your mother we have much to discuss
M- they are in the dining room waiting with my husband and Juliette
You get to the dining room and you lock eyes with Elinor
E- what the hell is she doing here?!
D- Elinor calm down
E- yes grandmother
You chuckle seeing her back down
E- shut it
D- please sit down
U- yes ma'am, can I ask why am I here?
Davina looks at your parents puzzled
D- you haven't told her?
Dad- we haven't got around to it yet
D- how come you've known about this union just before they started high school
U- I'm sorry what? Union? What are you all on about?
S- y/n, Elinor's grandmother made a deal with your parents that will benefit both families that you and Elinor will marry once you both have careers and mature enough and that time has come
U- fuck no, excuse my language but what the fuck! Why the hell would you make me marry her? She hates me she's hated me for her a decade why would you guys think this will be a good idea
M- because at the time you guys were best friends and very compatible so we made the agreement
E- y/n can I speak to you privately
U- fine
You guys go up to her room and she closes the door
U- what do you want to talk about cause I can't think of much except that we both agree that this shouldn't happen you—
E- I've never hated you
U- sorry what?
E- I've never hated you I found out about the agreement just before high school and I made the decision to cut you out and pretend to hate you cause I didn't want to marry you cause we were forced I wanted to be with you cause you wanted to not because we were forced. My grandmother and your parents found out that I had a crush on you and that they think you had one on me so they thought it's the perfect arrangement so they made the deal and they told me a month later a week before we started high school. I thought pushing you away and acting like... what did you call me a psycho bitch would made the deal go away then I could be your best friend again but it didn't happen and I made the mistake of faking the hatred for too long.  I hate that we argue so much and I know I took it too far and I should've told you the minute I found out but I didn't. Can we both just stop acting and just be ourselves again?
U- are you fucking kidding me?
E- what?
U- I am being myself, I tried so hard not to hate you so hard I thought the best friend I loved was still there but it took me a year to realise that wasn't happening so after the torture you put me through I started to hate you there's no acting on my part, you fucked up and me hating you is the punishment for it. I don't want to marry you and I'll do everything in my power to try and persuade them to cancel it so we don't have to see eachother again.
E- you actually hate me?
You see the heartbreak in her eyes but she's good at hiding her feelings, you feel bad for her for a second but you remember the torment she's put you through so you ignore it
U- yes I do you're 9 years too late for that speech
E- fine. And we don't have a choice you won't be able to get out of it we are getting married whether you hate me or not.
You leave Elinor's room and go downstairs
D- Sorted it all out
U- ma'am how long do we have to stay married for this agreement to be completed
D- it's infinite so forever. Y/n you're marrying my granddaughter whether you like it or not and what's not to like she's the heir, she's beautiful and a good vampire what more could you want?
U- someone I can trust and feel safe with. Nice you see you all again, goodbye.
You leave
D- elinor you need to convince her your wedding is in 6 months, can I count on you to make her see reason in the union
E- yes grandmother
M- Elinor darling go after her, prove your love for her she should see reason
She leaves the house and looking around to find you but she can't see you or your car. You ran off and left a note as you're not coming back. Elinor finds the note
