Chapter Three: I'm On My Own

"This isn't fair Sophia. You can't just do that to me and not explain that shit," I say frustrated. Sophia stops walking and turns around.

"What if I don't know how to explain it? What if I don't know why I did what I did?" Sophia shoots back at me.

"How could you not know?" I ask her. She is silent and not looking at me.

"Sophia what do you feel?" I ask. She looks at me and says, "Nothing... for you. Maybe I just wanted to try it but I backed out." My heart drops and I start to back up. "Wait Miranda," Sophia calls out for me but I keep walking. "Miranda I'm sorry," Sophia yells out to me. I keep walking with tears going down my face. I walk towards the bandroom, hoping that she wouldn't follow. I was right, she didn't. I reach around the bandroom and find the same bench me and Sophia sat on only a few weeks ago. "I have no one now," I say out loud to no one. I hear footsteps behind me and I stay silent. "It's two people," I think to myself.

"This is good. Now she'll understand who Sophia really is," I hear from a male voice. I think for a second... who is that?

"Don't you think that was kinda extreme to threaten Sophia like that?" asked a female voice. Of course... Charlotte.

"It's worth it if Miranda realizes that Sophia is bad news," I hear the guy say.

"What if Miranda finds out?" Charlotte asks him.

"She won't," he says firmly. "They did what!?" I think to myself. I feel anger in the pit of my stomach. I get up from off the bench and start walking back to the lunch area. I begin to walk around the bandroom so Charlotte and the guy don't see me but then I turn around and decide to walk right in front of them. As I walk past them I hear the guy call my name. I turn around and say, "What? I have a friend to go comfort." I smirk because he already knows who I am talking about.

"Miranda, you don't want to go comfort her," he says to me.

"And why not?" I ask him.

"Because Miranda, She broke your heart," he says. I huff and spit back,

"No. You did. You were supposed to be my friend, but no, you just had to judge me for who I like and try to get rid of her. How dare you threaten her? She didn't do anything to you." I hear laughter from Charlotte. I turn to look at her and say, "Shut the hell up Charlotte. You have no say in this. You are not a part of this. You're just a bitch." She laughs again and says,

"No Miranda, I'm not a bitch. Sophia is. Do you even know what we threaten her with?" The guy gives Charlotte a concerned look and grabs her arm.

"Don't tell her," he says firmly. She looks at him and laughs. She then looks back at me and says, "We threaten to tell you that Liam and her kissed." My heart drops. She kissed Liam? No she couldn't have. She wouldn't. I look back up at Charlotte. I'm furious. I get closer to her and spit at her,

"Look bitch I don't appreciate your lies. I'm so done with you two. Now leave me the hell alone." Charlotte laughs again and says,

"Fine, don't believe us. But just know that your precious Sophia isn't who you think she is. She's a bitch and always will be." I see her smile after she finishes her sentence and it makes my blood boil. I step even closer to her. She looks at me with one eyebrow raised. And that's when I punch her. The next thing I know is that Charlotte is on the floor holding her face and the guy is next to her on the floor.

"Why would you do that?" he yells out at me. I bend down, smirk on my face, and say,

"Told you, bitch, that I would punch you." I walk away, heading towards the lunch area. I then see her, Sophia. She's sitting down with her head hung low. I walk towards her. I stand next to her and put my hand on her shoulder. She then looks up at me. She almost looks scared. I smile at her, hoping that she wouldn't be scared. She now looks confused. I extend my hand out for her to grab it. She does and I start walking away from the table. She follows me, close behind. Once we get to an area where people can't hear us, I say, "Sophia it's okay. It's okay if you don't like me. I mean I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing and why." I look for a reaction from her but get nothing. I don't want to bring up the fact that I know Charlotte and that guy threatened her because what if it's real? What if she did kiss Liam? I then grab both of her hands and say, "I know Charlotte threatened you." She looks up at me and says,
