Liam looks at me with wide eyes. "Oh my god you don't remember," Liam says. "Obviously not," I reply sarcastically.

"Wait, you actually don't remember what the code is?" Liam asks.

"No I really don't," I respond to Liam. Liam looks at me with a scared face and says,

"This may take longer than I thought. If you don't know how to fight anymore or what the code means or is then I'm not sure we can get this done in time." My heart drops as he says this.

"We don't have a choice Liam. We have to save Sophia. If I have to learn all this stuff in less than two weeks I will. I'm not letting Sophia down." I say back to Liam.

"Well okay then let's get learning," Liam says. Liam starts to explain to me what the code is and what it means to the agency he works at. He tells me about our first meeting at the agency. Then he tells me that I'm the code.

"What! There is no way I can be the code!" I say to Liam.

"I know it's crazy but you have to believe me. They took Sophia so you could give yourself up," Liam says.

"This is stupid. I can not be the code." I say to Liam. He shakes his head and then says,

"Miranda, why do you think they are keeping Sophia alive? They needed your blood but couldn't have you there." I'm in a state of shock. How could I not know all of this stuff?

"Liam, who is Noah?"

"Ha! Noah was one of our friends in high school. Noah and I were best friends in high school. He ended up telling me that he had feelings for me. It kind of ruined our friendship."

"Do you think Noah could be working with Charlotte?"

"I'm not sure I haven't talked to either of them since high school."

"Okay let's move on then. How are we even going to get her back?" I ask.

"Well I was hoping you would be the one to come up with the plan," Liam says nervously.

"What do you mean? I don't even know where to start," I say shocked.

"Well I think the first step would be hacking into the POC," Liam says not confidently.

"And how do I do that?" I ask.

"Come on, stop messing, you have to remember that," Liam says laughing.

"No I really don't remember," I say sadly.

"Wait, you're serious?" Liam asks. I start to grow frustrated with my memory loss. I stand up, off the couch and scream out,

"Yes Liam I am serious! Why do I have to be the one to save Sophia? Why can't you do it? Huh? Why is this my job? Why Liam? Why? Aren't you the one who said we aren't supposed to find her? Maybe this is a good thing Liam." After a few moments of silence, I finally say something again, "I'm sorry okay? I really am but I can't do this. I'm not meant for this. Maybe the person who I was before was but me, now, is not." There are tears in my eyes and I don't know why. Liam shoots me a sympathetic look before standing up. He puts his hand on my shoulder and frowns. He doesn't say another word. The last thing I hear is the door being shut. I turn on the TV just for background noise. I head into the kitchen and start making myself some dinner. "Sophia?" I ask to no one. Of course there is no response, I mean why would there be. I hear something fall in the closet. I walk over to it and open the door. There is a cardboard box on the floor and there are pieces of paper with writing on them, on the floor. I begin picking them up and putting them back into the box. As I put the last one into the box, something catches my eye. I start reading the note and my heart starts beating rapidly. "Sophia wrote this," I say to no one. I don't want to read it. What if I'm not supposed to? I end up just putting it in my pocket. I go back into the kitchen and keep making dinner. After dinner I start watching TV. I end up falling asleep on the couch.
