-Chapter 3-

3| Adventure!

Soobin and Heuning Kai set out, it had been about 3 uneventful days. They had only packed some seaweed sandwiches and other snacking items. They swam for quite a while. Soobin spoke, "Hey, where are we going anyways?" "Oh! Teehee I forgot to tell you some things." Heuning said. "Well, I said we were going to the nearest kingdom right? Did I? Oh, well I can't remember. Well anyway, we are going to the nearest kingdom.  I think it's called 'Queendom'. Something like that. It's really small." Heuning just brushed the question off leaving it to linger.

Soobin stared at the man thinking 'Is he for real?' Controlling his sudden urge to strangle the latter.

"So does this place have anything significant?  So that I can remember it?" "Nope. Not that I can remember. Oh! I think they're known for having dolphins! A lot of them!" Heuning was ecstatic. Just when Soobin patted his shoulder catching his attention. "Huh, yes Soobin-Hyung?-" just when Heuning was cut off. Soobin shushed the latter, hoping for him to stay even the littlest bit quiet.

"Yes, understood Queen Yeri. We are scouting the area where the sharks were spotted." The guard was much too far away from the castle spoke. The Castle must have been thousands and if not hundreds of yards away. So what was a measly guard doing here? Kai hearing what the man had said started slowly drifting away from where the man was floating. Soobin just stared at him with confusion. What was wrong with a shark? That's when it hit Soobin. Quite literally, a piece of coral whacked the back of Soobin's head. He would be damned if he was to make a noise. The guard was now just above Soobin.

Heuning watching all of this happen started breaking out into a cold sweat, frantically hoping that Soobin would not be caught as he had brought it upon himself to help Soobin learn about himself as he did for any merman. Yes, this wasn't his first time.  He had helped many others but none have ever returned the favor.

Heuning slowly swam back attempting to not leave a small stream behind his tail. The boy was too kind for his good. Soobin saw Heuning gliding back to him and started shooting him away. "What are you doing? I'll get out myself, go Hyuka!" Soobin seethed.

"No! I can't let you get caught!-", " Imagine what they'd do to you! Didn't you say your species harmed other mermaids? Then they'll hurt you! Go!" Soobin rushed. Heuning started tearing up, "I can't, I can't leave you hung. I am bound to help you, I can't." He sobbed. "Who's there? Some yourself!" The guard called out, "Go, Kai! They'll get you!" "No. I am staying. I'd rather get caught than go back." Soobin looked at Kai as if he were mad.

The guard was now close near. Heuning stood still, not leaving Soobins side for a second. Soobin took it upon himself to save Heuning from whatever was happening to the latter. What did he mean 'I am bound to you? Soobin was soon falling limp under the weight of the heavy coral.

"I need to close my eyes," Heuning started panicking as he heard those lines. Slight whispering Heuning spoke "No! You can't Soobin-Hyung!" Too late, Soobin was already unconscious.

It was up to Heuning to take his chance with the guard or to leave Soobin on his own without anyone else to care for the man.

Kai being the angel he was decided it was he who was going to save Soobin.

Too late. The guard had already noticed both Kai and Soobin. "Well if it isn't a spirit mermaid attempting to attack a helpless mermaid." He seethed.

"You've got it all wrong! I wasn't trying to hurt him! I was trying to help him but he fainted, he'll suffocate if we don't help!" Heuning Kai squeaked leaving the guard to have no other choice. "Alright, you're going to help me because you're the whole reason why he is unconscious." He, of course, still despised Kai.

"Alright, Sir!" Hyuka saluted goofily making the guard question the mermaid's innocence.
Getting into their selected spots, the guard, grabbed the coral on top of Soobin releasing the pressure up the top of him. Heuning dragged Soobin out from under the coral.

Of course, good times have to come to an end soon, a little too soon. Heuning was the
yanked away from Soobin and his hands were tied with rope. The same went for his upper body and tail. Soobin wasn't tied, however, he was being dragged by the said guard.

It was only a few hours later after both Kai and Soobin had been 'kidnapped'. Kai was the first to gain consciousness, they indeed had reached the kingdom. Just not the way they intended.

Heuning looked around the place, then looked straight forward. He saw rows of bars surrounding him. Holding him prisoner, quite literally. Huening Kai was now panicking not for his health, but for Soobins.

"Let me out, please! I swear on Poseidon I didn't hurt that man! Just please!" Heuning begged.

Well, damn. Originally this chapter was supposed to be about 6000 words but I decided to be like HYBE when it comes to updating stories so...🤠✌
