An "Unexplainable" Force (Rick Sanchez X Reader)

Chapter Eight

I wake up being cradled by the comforting arms of my new found favourite person. Feeling super cosy and comfortable, I turn to face Rick, nuzzling into his chest as he greets my close presence with a tighter grip on me.

Planting a kiss onto my forehead, I can hear Rick smile as he gently speaks. "Good morning sweetheart."

I just smile and nuzzle even closer into his chest, fulling content in where I am.

"Excuse me? I know you're awake. Don't make me push you out of this bed." Rick jokes, looking down at me as he loosens his grip around me. "Oi! Y/n, stop ignoring me or I'll seriously push you out or take the covers off so you're cold."

I giggle, still not moving from where I lay. "No you won't."

"You're calling my bluff are you? You're really sure about that."

I nod, looking up now slightly to smile at him. "Mhm."

"Fine. Three... two... one... I hope you don't get cold easy." Rick rips the duvet off of me with one swift pull and begins to slowly push me off of the bed. "You have to say good morning back or you'll end up on the floor."

I giggle more as I try not to lose my balance and fall down. "Fine. Good morning." I say in defeat. "Happy now?"

"Yes." Rick admits as he pulls me closer to him once's more and pulls the covers back over me. "It wasn't that hard was it? Shall we get breakfast soon or...?" I shake my head and hold on to him tighter. "I guess not then."

Rick smiles and grabs the tv remote, turning the tv on to some crappy show before ultimately putting on a movie. He grabs two extra pillows and lays them against the headboard so we can be more upright to watch the screen better. Continuing to wrap his arm around me, Rick kisses my forehead as I lay my head on his chest, listening to the calming sound of his heartbeat.

Words couldn't explain the next couple of hours, life's strange like that I guess. We just layed there for the whole movie, enjoying each other's comfort and never letting go of one another. Peace and relaxation, something not too common in Rick and I's lives. I can't think of a single reason why I'd want this to change, not a single reason to want to change the way my life has come to.

That's okay, as long as you're safe. I still haven't met this Rick character properly have I? Either way, as long as he's making sure you're safe and okay then I'm okay with it as long as you come home at some point.

I can feel Rick looking over my shoulder as I text my dad the whole time. I hear him smirk. "So you think I'm good company do you?" He smiles. "I'm flattered."

"Why are you reading my texts? Nosey!" I tease.

"What can I say? I'm curious."

"Curiosity killed the cat."

"Touché."
