"How do we get it to go away?" Pran whisperedly asks, looking down at the goose.
"I... don't know."
"Pat!"
"It's okay, I'll just call Korn." Pat waves him off, taking out his phone.
Pran rolls his eyes, yet the dimples still remain on his face.
Korn answers instantly and Pat explains that he's found his soulmate and that he doesn't know what to do now. Korn says that he'll call his aunt and text him when he finds out. He then asks Pat if he can facetime but Pat denies.
He knows Pran wouldn't want Korn to know so soon.
So he hangs up and Pran begins tapping his foot.
"Annoyed by my presence that fast?" Pat asks. His confidence is a bit lower than usual at the moment so his voice comes out more genuine than necessary.
"I was annoyed the second I saw you," Pran quips back fast.
Pat doesn't know how to respond, so he doesn't.
Pran pauses for a moment, probably expecting Pat to retort. A couple seconds of silence pass and he huffs, nudging their shoulders together. "Actually I'm just nervous about someone seeing us. I don't want any more drama," he says sincerely.
Pat smiles softly. Even though he doesn't care, he agrees with Pran. He doesn't want another life altering event to happen after one just did.
Plus, if someone does see them together then they'll have to make up an excuse not only for why they're together, but also a reason for them to leave together because of the damn goose not letting them separate. That's simply too much trouble for a Wednesday.
He glares down at the goose for making things difficult, but then an idea sparks. "I think we might be fine if we walk together. We can try to find an empty classroom or something," Pat suggests.
Pran looks around (he's definitely chewing on the inside of his cheek) and nods. "That's a good idea."
Pat beams.
"But we need to be extra careful. Most of the classes in this building are over now, but I know some people like to study around here," Pran says.
Pat then looks around and realizes where they are. He had been too busy focusing on which direction to go that he didn't see that the goose brought him all the way to the architecture faculty's building.
"Okay," he replies. "I can be stealthy."
"Yeah?" Pran's voice drips with doubt.
Pat's mouth drops. "Excuse you, I am a great sneak!"
"Did you forget the time after your growth spurt when you were late after lunch and you belly crawled to your desk? Like the teacher wouldn't notice you doing that."
He doesn't know how to defend that one, it isn't one of his proudest moments, so he thinks of the first thing he can to retort. "I've never been caught sneaking across to your room, have I?"
Pran bites his lips and swallows his words.
Pat smirks. "See, that's what I thought."
Pran shakes his head and checks their surroundings.
"To be extra safe we should step together," Pat says. "I don't want either of us to get bit."
Pran nods and Pat swears he can see the tips of Pran's ears turning red.
He doesn't comment, but maybe one day in the future he might be able to.
They both take a tentative step together and the goose simply follows them, no biting or hissing or anything. So Pat loops his arm with Pran's and Pran leads them through the building. At some points they hide behind corners waiting for people to pass and at one point they get squished next to a vending machine, but soon enough they find an empty classroom.
