"Teka lang, never akong nainggit sa'yo. And I never saw you as competition. Pinsan kita, you're family—"

"Bullshit, Aiyla!"

"Ano ka ba, ni hindi ko nga kilala 'yung boyfriend mo, eh. That was the first time I met him. Hindi mo rin sinabi sa akin kung ano ang problema n'yo at basta mo na lang ako sinundo sa bahay para samahan ka. I did not know—"

"Shut up! Napakasinungaling mo!"

"I am telling the truth, Mave. Ano ka ba naman. Hindi lang pinsan ang turing ko sa'yo kundi kapatid. I would never even think of betraying you—"

"H'wag ka nang magmaang-maangan, Aiyla! You are so like your mother! Hindi ba't inagaw lang ng Mommy mo ang Daddy mo sa iba?!"

"Leave my mother out of this."

"I will drag your mother's name through the mud dahil sa kanya ka nagmana!"

"Isa pa sasampalin na kita."

"What?!"

"H'wag ang Mommy ko. Kung gusto mong mag-away tayo, then by all means say hurtful things to me. But don't you dare get my mother involved, hindi ko 'yun palalampasin."

"How dare you—"

"How dare you cheat and act as if it was other people's fault that you were dumped? You played some stupid game, of course, you will win some stupid prize. H'wag tanga."

"What the hell did you just call me?!"

"Tanga."

"Excuse me?!"

"Yes, excuse you. I don't care what makes your boat float, Mavis, dahil buhay mo 'yan. Pero, h'wag mo akong babaliktarin. Hindi ako interesado doon sa boyfriend mo, iyong-iyo na s'ya. Pwede mo s'yang itali d'yan sa katauhan mo para hindi na s'ya mawalay sa'yo. And for the record, wala na akong balak makita uli ang lalaking 'yun."

But, of course, that declaration blew up in my face because not only did I see him again, I even married him.

"Hey..." I felt his kiss on my cheek before I felt his arms go around my waist. "Where have you been? Kanina pa kita hinahanap—oh, you're here? Who invited you?"

Mavis looked like she was about to cry and I couldn't stop the guilt that crept up to me. "Ayden, please, mag-usap tayo—"

"Your cousin is shamelessly flirting with me, Sweetheart," my new husband jestingly commented. "Wait, are you done congratulating my wife? If you are, you can skip our reception, hindi ka kailangan d'un," he declared before steering me towards the church's main entrance.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes."

"Good," he said before putting a hand over my head as the guests rained us with rice and flowers until we reached his waiting car.

"You're driving?" I asked as he fastened his seat belt.

"Yes, why?" He sounded confused.

"Wala lang..." I murmured. "I thought someone was going to drive us to the hotel."

"Sweetheart, this is a two-seater, saan mo naman ako pauupuin kung meron tayong driver? Unless, you want to sit on my lap?"

I stared at his smiling face while his words played like a theme song from a horror movie inside my head...

That speech is not going to get you off the hook tonight...

I was tempted to do the sign of the cross. Lord, help...

When we reached the hotel, Elena's team was already waiting for us and I was whisked to our suite to retouch my make-up and fix my hair.

"Can you do it in fifteen, Miss Joey?" Elena asked my friend who readily nodded.
