Chapter 33

I thought that by now, the start of my second trimester, I would already be done with the fatigue. Lumala lang 'yung mga sintomas. I was easily tired too so that affected my work!

One thing that bothered me the most was my sore and enlarged breasts! I cupped my breasts in front of the mirror, examining how it changed the past days.

"Do my boobs look weird to you?" I asked.

Darcey scoffed laughingly. "Don't worry, babe. They seem pretty fine to me."

"No! Aren't they... a bit bigger?"

"Chai, hindi ko alam... Hindi ko naman 'yan nahawakan o tinititigan. You should ask your baby daddy. I think he would know."

"Fuck," was I could only mutter at that time. I glared at Darcey who had a menacing smile. "Fuck you."

"Harmless suggestion lang naman."

"Hindi harmless 'pag sa'yo galing," I retorted.

She cackled. "Madumi lang utak mo!"

"No, seriously... Tignan mo ngayon, hindi ba nagmukhang lumaki?" I repeated.

My boobs definitely felt heavier and bigger.

She raised her hands in the air in defeat. "I don't know!"

Dr. Sanchez also assured me it was normal during our check-up.

"You may also notice emotional changes along the way. Syempre, hindi natin masasabi kung tuwing kailan 'yun susulpot," she added.

Maddox pressed my hand softly, offering a piece of himself right at that moment.

Dr. Sanchez looked straight into Maddox's eyes. "You and your presence will be really important for her...

Maddox tried to act nonchalant. "Sus, Doc! 'Di mo na kailangan sabihin. Talaga namang hindi ko iiwan 'to."

My mind really shouldn't be involving itself in a mind game of double meanings...

She laughed and I tried to let out a non-awkward smile.

Was now really the best time to joke like this?

"'Yung flu vac mo pala ah? Don't forget," she reminded.

"Opo. Nakalista na po sa'min 'yun."

With our appointments increasing with the weeks of pregnancy, it was getting harder for me to keep track and call to recheck if our check-up wasn't rescheduled to another day. Buti na lang Maddox had been a great help keeping me in line with everything...

"Bukod doon, paalala ko na rin. Chai, umiinom ka ba ng kape o energy drinks, ganoon?" she questioned like a threat.

"Uh, opo..."
