"So.." Nick began, "You have any plans after this? Like, after camp?"

"Well, going to college of course. Might go to the same school as my brother, or maybe go on my own." You answered, kicking a rock that was near your foot.

"That's cool."

The silence came back.

You kept walking alongside Nick, until you stopped. No longer hearing extra steps, Nick stopped and turned back to look at you.

"What's wrong? You okay?" You nodded your head in reply and pointed at the trail camera hiding near some trees.

"Look! It's a trail camera, what's it doing out here?" You asked nobody in particular.

"Maybe it's for the animals out here. Y'know, making sure the wildlife is okay."

You hummed at Nick's response and backed away from it. Now a little concerned at the fact Mr. H had a hidden camera, and possibly many more, around the camp.

Was he spying on you all?

You and Nick continued walking around, enjoying the scenery around the path. You let out a sigh, Nick looked down at you and frowned.

"Everything okay?" He asked.

You hesitated before answering, "Yeah, just a little worried.."

"About?"

"What Mr. H wanted. He said to stay inside and Ryan seemed stressed too. What if something is wrong and Mr. H is worried we'll get hurt?" Your overthinking had gotten the better of you.

"We won't get hurt, don't worry." Nick wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you into a side hug. "It's probably only because we're out in the woods. Been raised on technology, we don't know a thing about the woods."

"Yeah, you're probably right." You said with a small smile. You appreciated Nick's comfort.

Nick took his arm off your shoulders slowly, his fingers slightly grazing the back of your neck. You blushed at the small contact and bit the inside of your cheek.

You both continued walking down the path, your hands casually brushing against each other. The urge to hold his hand was proving to be too difficult to resist. One of the sticks in your pile seemed to have been straying away from the group.

You gave out a small groan and shifted the sticks around, pushing them further against your chest. Nick chuckled at your struggle and smiled.

"You need a hand with that?" Nick offered.

"You don't have to. I can hold it." You squirmed around, trying not to drop any of the other sticks.

Pausing his movements, Nick took the sticks from you carefully and held them in his arms. You looked up at him, grateful for his help. He looked down at you, now making eye contact with each other.

You hesitated before going on your tip-toes and kissing Nick on the cheek. Before even giving him a chance to respond, you continued walking.
