i love gettin pretty and going out
be havin the ppl around me stare
like "yeah, look at me."
u can't believe what u see
if only u knew, my hair gave
me hell to be slicked down or up like this
beauty is pain but when i look
in the mirror, i feel good as hell
i wash up, brush my teeth, wash my face
put my clothes on and do my hair
that's the order i go in every time to have the same ending
me lookin good !
i lay my edges so when the sun or moon catches them, they don't rise up
i take a quick peak in my phone camera and tell myself
"damn, i outdid myself today !"
the light of the world catches their shine
so they illuminate in every picture i take
redid them a good 25 times to make sure they looked the way i wanted them to
after that, i choose the jewelry i want to wear for the day
gold jewelry is my thing so that's what i pick
the jewels and my skin blend in with each other
bc it looks the best on my black skin
radiating the aura of treasure
ppl see me as if they found it
i am not yours to have but i am a diamond
the joys of going out w ppl u love
having a good time and looking good
makes me feel good
