if i had the words to describe
the way you make me feel
i wouldn't need to write this
but i don't know them
so i'll just describe it to you
you're the first thing i think of in the morning
and you're the last thing i think of at night
you're my safe space, my laughter
and most importantly, my love
you're my reason for wanting to be better
you're my inspiration
you're the lessons i've learned
and despite the hardships we face
we continue to grow together
time and time again i've searched
for someone who could live up to you
someone who could make me feel
the same way you made me feel
but it was impossible
the happiness that i feel
when we're together
not even a lifetime by the shore
would be able to replicate it
when you smile and turn to me
the feeling i get is indescribable
it's all anyone could ever want
and it's all i've ever needed
you're so beautiful to me
inside and out
i can see the things
that nobody else can
a blessing and a curse
you have me in a chokehold
the influence you have on me
could make or break me
but you're the one i trust
you've been nothing but good to me
you're what i've needed all along
the final piece to my puzzle
your attention means everything to me
you long for my success as i do yours
and when it's all said and done
we will only thrive together
you are my comfort and peace
the home i long desired
