RITCHLAND, ILLINOIS WAS A SMALL TOWN NEAR CHICAGO. Not many people who weren't from around the area knew what is was. No one even visited it unless they had relatives living there. Quite frankly, it was the middle of nowhere, and everyone who had to live there hated it. There were no malls, no places for people under the age of 25 to hang out at, no significant stores, and most of all, no diversity.

Estela moved there when she was eleven, and she couldn't stand Ritchland. Maybe she was just too critical of others, but it was like most of the population were shitheads. Nearly every friend or crush she had ended up stabbing her in the back, and it was hell trying to find good friends. But by then, she had more trust issues than The Rock had shine on his head. She couldn't tell anyone anything if she wanted it to stay a secret.

In turn of this, she made many enemies— though most of them were probably one-sided. Estela let her resting bitch face roam free around everyone, leading them to further believe that she hated them, which was true. Every time she got grouped with someone in class, she had to hold in her sighs, while the other had the straightest face ever, thinking that the assignment was going to be horrible since she hated them.
