One || Orange Soda

Start from the beginning

"Cursed weapons user, Zenin Maki. She wields special armaments that can exorcise curses." He began with the girl holding the polearm before pointing to the boy whose scarf covered half his face, "Spell castor, Inumaki Toge. His vocabulary consists of ingredients used to make rice balls so good luck having conversations with him." Gojo then turned to me, "Innate technique user, (L/N) (Y/N). She can boost her speed to supersonic levels to the point of generating electricity." Lastly, he gestured to the panda, "Panda. And yep, that's about it."

Yuta only stared ahead with horror on his face. I couldn't help but chuckle at how timid he was. Gojo simply went on to explain the schedule for that day's training but not before I thought to wriggle my way out of it. "But Gojo sensei, it wouldn't be fair to give us training on Yuta's first day, would it? We should get to know him, let the poor guy ease up a little." I clasped my hands together with a pleading smile but it was really just a hoax honestly. If I see a chance for slacking off, I'm certainly taking it.

I could hear Maki dissing Yuta in the doorway as Gojo placed a hand on his chin in consideration. "That would be a waste of time though, no? You'll have plenty of time to get to know him." he hummed.

Just as I was about to give up, Toge appeared at my left while mirroring my actions with his hands together. "Salmon, salmon." He nodded. I couldn't help but smile slyly at my partner in crime before turning back to the tall man with a fake frown.

The blindfolded man arched his back in surrender at our puppy eyes, "Ah, what kind of amazing and handsome sensei would I be if I said no to my cute students?" He smiled widely as he flattered himself. "Of course you kids can have the day off, your amazing and handsome sensei will allow it!"

Toge and I dropped the act immediately and fist-bumped each other as we walked to the other three who were standing by the door. Panda seemed to be consoling Yuta with a hand on his shoulder as Maki faced the other way with a pissed expression. "Yo, Toge and I manipulated Gojo into not giving us training again. Let's all hang out." I grinned while gesturing for them to come with us.

"What? Ugh Gojo, that pushover." Maki grumbled as she followed.

Slowing my pace, I walked alongside Yuta. "C'mon Maki, don't be so uptight." I chuckling softly before turning to the dark haired boy. "There's this sushi place the four of us always go to, will you join us?"

He didn't respond immediately and only looked at me with surprised eyes that had never heard something so kind before. "Y-yes! Thank you!" His whole body jolted as his voice cracked in excitement.

With a small chuckle, I gave a side eye to Toge and raised an eyebrow. He nodded his head subtly, indicating he got the message. Oh we were planning to make Yuta ease up, alright.

So when the five of us ventured downtown to the cheap little sushi shop and got our meals, we decided to put our plan into action.

We were casually explaining to Yuta how things worked around Jujutsu Tech, slandering Gojo while we were at it, and although he did seem less nervous than he was earlier I could tell he was still on edge with us. When he excused himself from the table to use the bathroom a little later, Toge and I made our move.

I reached over and grabbed the orange soda he ordered earlier while Toge took a soy sauce packet and cut the corner. Maki and Panda stared at us with discontent and worry respectively. "What are you two up to now?" The former groaned in annoyance. She was never really amused by our pranks.

"You're really gonna terrorise him on his first day? How scandalous!" Panda covered his mouth with a paw while he let out a small giggle.

I took the straw and lid off the cup and fit the end of the straw into the hole on the sauce packet where Toge had cut. "It's not terrorising. We're just helping him loosen up a little." I smirked while putting the cup back together. The other two let out a sigh as the silver-haired boy and I gave each other a grin.

It wasn't long until Yuta returned, tripping on his way to his seat. Maki nor Panda dared to tell him how we meddled with his drink when he was away and instead continued the conversation to avoid him from suspecting anything.

And he didn't. Because he laughed along with our jokes as he casually lifted his soda with the four of us watching from the corner of our eyes as he took his next sip. He was no longer laughing when his face contorted into disgust, clearly not expecting the sweet flavour of his drink to be replaced with the dreadful soy sauce saltiness. It was when the boy threw his face back in a coughing fit that I couldn't help but burst into laughter, Toge trying to conceal his chuckles next to me. Maki continued eating like it was nothing all the while Panda slapped Yuta's back to ease his coughs.

"W-w-what the hell was that for!?" The dark-haired boy finally exclaimed, betrayal deep in his eyes. It was clear he hadn't eased up in all, in fact it seemed like he'd be more alert than ever around us but it was a pretty funny sight so I didn't mind.

"That's what you get for trusting (Y/N) too much. Toge's no better." Maki mumbled before she took the last egg nigiri from Yuta's plate with her chopsticks.

Putting my palms together, I smiled apologetically to the boy across from me, "Sorry about that, I'll go easier on you next time."

"Next time!?" His face dropped in fear as he gulped.

The rest of us simply continued talking and eating, leaving Yuta baffled and afraid. Upon realising that I too was weird in a way, he had completely lost all hope for making a normal friend at the school. But we were sorcerers, what was he expecting?

Okay so basically the reader is a little shit that likes pulling pranks and drags Inumaki into it with her. I'd also like to point out I've made the reader refer to him on a first name basis since that's how the 2nd years all call each other in the manga (except Yuta).

As for the reader's cursed technique, I was inspired by an idea from reddit:

Overdrive: the user can boost the speed of specific parts of their body to inhumane levels. Parts that are speed boosted generate electricity that interferes with muscle control and cursed technique control (the user is immune these effects). The amount of electricity generated is proportional to how fast the parts are moving. However, some speeds can heavily fatigue the muscles or otherwise damage them and excessive use of the technique in general will cause the body to cramp.

In other words, reader is like Zenitsu or Killua in terms of speed and electricity control. I hope you guys like this concept and continue to enjoy the story <3
