Intro

You are a month old. You were born on October 29 but they didn't give you to Maya until the snowstorm.
Set in Season 3 Episode 6

December 1st
5:30 pm

You are shivering and crying by the tent door as Mason comes in " It really snowing out there." He picks you up and grabs a shirt and wraps you up. Abby sets her needle and spoon down and lays down " I know. It is freezing I took the kid's blanket. Can you get It to shut up? I'm trying to relax." Mason nods " maybe It is hungry? You didn't feed him since this morning?" Abby sits up " Fine. Give me It.I wish formula was easy to steal so I don't have to do this." Mason hand you over and sits down " Hey I'm not willing to go to jail for stealing formula. It not worth it." He grab the dime bag and takes a line of coke. Abby feeds you and unwraps the shirt " Mason I think it time. We can't keep it anymore. Either I leave or It leaves." Mason sniffles " What do you mean?" Abby sighs " All it does is cry! And the weather is getting worse. It going to get sick and I'm not going to deal with it." Mason nods and wipes his nose "Umm my sister she a firefighter. Safe surrender shit? I can take him now." Abby pulls you off and hands you off " I will be here." Mason nods and covers you with his jacket and walks the 45 minutes to Station 19. You are crying and shivering Mason sighs and starts rocking you.

Mason looks around the station and see a lot of people. He tries to spot his sister and I can't find anyone until he runs in someone with the name Herrea and Gibson. Mason stops " I need to safe surrender?" He hands you over as Jack speaks " Umm ok?" and Andy takes you and hold you. As Mason sniffles " Maya Bishop is his aunt. Please get him to her so she can take of care of him. And she can have full custody I can't take care of this kid. Doesn't have a name yet. We been calling It. Oh! We were high when he was born so birthday between Oct 30 to Nov 1st. Thanks." Andy looks shock and looks at you shivering as Jack runs after Mason. He quickly dodges Jack and makes it out into the dark. Andy brings you close for warmth " Hey mijo. Everything will be ok. I promise." Andy sees Maya talking to some people and quickly walks over " Maya we have a problem." Maya smiles at the people and excuses herself " You talking to me now? I'm shocked." Andy gestures to you as Maya looks at you " Safe Surrender? He needs a blanket. He has no onesie at all and that diaper is a plastic bag." Andy whispers " Your brother dropped him off. He gives full rights to you." Maya looks around for her brother " Where did he go?" Andy holds you closer as she feels you shivering " He ran out. Jack attempted to catch him but he got away." Maya looks at you and gently takes you " Hey Buddy... I guess I'm aunt Maya? Andy " If you are keeping him you should say mommy so Are you keeping him? You can't be the third parent to give up on him." Maya takes deep breathe " I don't know Andy. I just made captain and I wouldn't be a good mom." Andy like " We will help you. It is Baby Bishop. And you be amazing mom. He needs you." Maya sighs " I will take him. I guess...." You stiffen up and start crying. Andy " I will go get a blanket for him." Maya heads to her office trying to calm you down. She starts rocking you " Come on buddy. Please calm down. No need to cry." You settle down but continue whining.She adjusts you and grabs her phone to facetime Carina she faces the camera more towards her as Carina picks up with a smile "Hi Bambina. This is a surprise is everything ok?" Maya takes a deep breath " My nephew just got safe surrendered to me about thirty minutes." Maya shows you on the factime and Carina gasps " He is so tiny! Was he just born? He needs a blanket I can see he is shivering. And Love those red spots are the beginning stages of frostbite." Maya nods and curses Mason in her head " What can I do?" Carina about to answer when Andy walks in with a blanket and a diaper " Maya I'm concerned he is month old but Mason doesn't remember his birthday because they were both high when he was born. So I'm scared he has drugs in his system." Maya sighs " Well that answers some of your questions. What can I do to warm him up?" Carina mumbles " Poor Bambino. A shower will warm him up. But gradually warm up the water. If you do too much it can shock him. And cheek to see if he has anymore spots. Blue is worst. But Bambina if he has drugs in his system I'm concerned. That could be why he is shaking and if you listen closely he is wheezing. Maya once the roads clear you need to bring him in." Maya nods as she walking to the bathroom and Andy follows behind and gets the shower ready as Maya lays you down on the counter " Ok so I don't see any blue spots just red. And diaper that is ready to explode." Carina nods " that is good. It means the frostbite hasn't set in." Maya nods and takes off your diaper she unravels the ducktape. And starts gagging " I don't feel like this was ever was change. Ok Andy hold him while I get my shirt off. Carina I will call you back. Thank you." Carina laughs " So I miss the best part? Call me later Bambina keep me updated." Maya blushes but nods " I will thank you." She hangs up and gently takes you " Let get clean stinky." she steps in the shower and you whine. Maya looks over " Andy does he have a name?" Andy shakes her head " Your brother says they been calling him It." Maya shakes her head and grabs a wash rag and cleans off the poop and gunk over you as JJ and Dean and Captian Herrea comes in " JJ having her baby!" Maya sighs annoyed " What with the babies today?" She hands you off to Andy who hands you off to her dad " Who baby is this?" Maya gets out to help JJ " Mine. He is my nephew. And I don't know what to do with him because he doesn't even have a name and is going to have insane health issues." JJ looks at her " My baby is coming and I'm having it in the fire station! Alot of things don't go as they are plan!" Captain Herrea changes you into a diaper and wraps you in a towel " I'm going to give him to Hughes. She in charge of the kids."

Once Maya is done with helping with JJ she takes you from Vic and thanks her. She sighs and walks around as you are still whining " come on buddy. Please stop whining. You are ok." She adjusts the blanket and calls Carina She answers " Yes Bambina?" and smiles
Maya takes a breathe " I don't know to do. He is still shivering and whining. And he still wheezing." Carina nods " roads have cleared Si? Bring him in. I will be waiting and I will alert the other doctors." Maya nods " I guess we can take the aid car...I'm going to get Andy to drive and we will be right there."  Carina nods " I will be here."

             Once you arrive at Grey Sloan you are escorted back into a room and Dr.Robbins comes in with Dr.Bailey. Maya is still holding you close and talking to Carina. Dr.Bailey gives a small smile " I heard we have a special little patient so I brought in our best doctor for the little guy."  Maya nods and gently lays you down but still holds your hand " He a month old.....he might have drugs in his system."  Carina rubs Maya arm as Dr. Bailey and Dr.Robbins nod and Dr. Robbins grabs her stethoscope and sighs after a minute  and looks at Dr.Bailey "  We need to get him to NICU. His breathing is irregular. There is whistling sound like I'm hearing. And the shivering I want to get him in an Incubator.  Get his body temperature up. And we will take some blood right now to determine what drugs are in his system."  She looks over at Maya " He is in the best care. I promise we will get better and get him home with you. You are adopting him right?" Maya looks at Carina and then at you " Yes I will. I can't abandon him like this. He going to need all the love."  Carina smiles and kisses her " You got this."
