After all the goodbyes Nancy and Happy got into the car and left for the airport.
"How are you feeling, kid?" Happy asked noticing Nancy's silence even after they got into the plane.
"Huh? No. I feel fine. I guess I'm gonna miss the 4 people who knew the true me and not judge me for it. Did you see, the Reyes' and the Hughes twins were the only ones who came to say goodbye. Others didn't even bother to come out of their dorms." said Nancy as she sighed.
"Don't worry, Nancy. I'm sure you'll make more real friends in New York." Happy assured.

"Huh! It's smaller than I imagined," said Nancy looking out the window. Happy stared at her not believing his ears.
"What? You can't blame a girl for imagining." she said.
"I didn't say anything." said Happy.
"You don't have to. Your face says it all" Nancy shrugged.
"Well, it's there's no point in arguing when I very well know your the one who's gonna win in the end. Welcome to the Avengers' Headquarters, or should I say Welcome Home?" said Happy with a grin.
"I suppose 'Welcome Home' would do. It sure can be home." said Nancy with a smile creeping in as the plane landed.
"I'm sure it will be. Come on now, Ms. Potts will be waiting for you. You can look at the HQ in person instead of just admiring the view from outside. It's more beautiful in." said Happy walking out.
"Mmm. Wait! What about dad, Uncle Rhodey and Clint?" Nancy asked taking her bag and following Happy.
"Uhh... Colonel Rhodes is in D.C., and Mr. Stark and Mr. Barton are on a mission with the other Avengers." he answered walking towards the entrance.
"Hmm. My dad is not here to welcome me when I am coming home for the first time. Great!" said Nancy in an exasperating tone.
"It's not like that. Mr. Stark didn't want the Avengers to know about your existence yet; it was an important mission."
"Wow! I'm surprised that my father wants to hide me from his friends. That mission of his better be important since he is not even able to welcome me, his only daughter, home." she said with annoyance evident on her face.
"If it makes you feel any better, you'll get an epic apology from him when he gets back." Nancy turned back startled by a different voice.
"Now, I would like to welcome you home Nancy Stark. It is nice to see you again."
"Pepper!! Oh my god! It's so good to see you! I missed you so much!" said Nancy hugging Pepper tightly.
"I missed you too, sweetheart." she said hugging back.
