CHAPTER 48

Imagining that silver grey-eyed woman and Sam together made her heartache.

Nalukot ang papel na hawak niya and she sighed. Pinapahirapan niya lang ba ang sarili niya?

Napatingin ito sa nalukot na papel sa kanan niyang kamay. "Someone is here to see you----"

Before Bridgette could finish her sentence. Pumasok na sa loob nang office niya si Christian na bitbit bitbit ang travelling bag nito. He put it on the side and put his right arms wide. Bridgette immediately back off at tumango ito sa kanya bago ito lumabas ng office na simple niya ding tinanguan.

Amelia's mouth dropped open. Andito na ito? She looked at the clock and noticed that it was already lunch time. Hindi niya namalayan dahil itinuon niya lang ang sarili niya sa trabaho.

She stood up from her chair and looked at him up and down. He looked so fine! Maaliwalas ang mukha nito. His smile was stretching from both corners of his mouth at mukhang tuwang tuwa ito na makita siya.

Amelia couldn't help the smile that made its way to her mouth. Mukhang nakabuti dito ang pag papunta niya dito sa abroad. He wasn't the grumpy Christian anymore. Something changed in him. Dati kapag umuwi ito galing abroad after 2 months ay nakasimangot ito pag sinasalubong niya sa airport. But now he didn't let her know na andito ito. He surprised her like what he usually does before.

"Hi, Honey." May inilabas ito sa likod nito and Amelia gasped when she saw the boquet of flowers.

"Y-You didn't have to."

Umiling ito. "I'm sorry, Amelia. I realized I was a bad husband to you. We are both hurting and I---"Yumuko ito at nakita niya ang luha sa mga mata nito. "I'm sorry for what I did. I promise I'll change from now on. I'll be a good husband----"

Umiling ito at ngumiti ng pilit. "I couldn't just say to you that I've changed. Gusto kong patunayan. You'll have to see through my actions."

Amelia's heart felt warm sa sinabi nito. Ilang beses niyang inasam na marinig iyon kay Christian. Sending him abroad for 6 months must have made him think a lot about their marriage. Akala niya ay tuluyan nang masisira ang relasyon nila but seeing Christian like this. Being the man that he was before made her heart ache. Ang tagal niyang inantay ito. She even made some decisions that are harsh just to save their marriage.

Nangilid ang mga luha niya. The day that they lost the baby was the day that she regrets the most. Gusto niyang ibalik ang oras at iligtas ang anak niya. She would be holding their child in their hands kung hindi siya nagkaroon ng miscarriage. Masaya sana sila ni Christian. But maybe this time they could have another chance.

She run towards Christian and hugged him. She realized that she had missed him so much. Ipinalibot nito ang yakap sa bewang niya. She sobbed on to his shoulders. Hinaplos haplos naman nito ang likod niya.

"I'm so sorry, Amelia." His voice cracked, and Amelia shook her head.

"It's ok. Ang mahalaga ay andito ka na."

"Boss?"

Amelia looked towards the door when she saw Bridgette.

"Y-Yes?" Pinunasan niya ang luha niya dahil nakakahiya naman kay Bridgette.

"Sam is here to see you."

"W-What?" She was about to get away from Christian nang hawakan nito ang bewang niya. Hindi tuloy siya nakaalis sa pagkakayap nito nang pumasok si Sam sa office.

Nakangiti ito but it was quickly wiped away nang mapatingin ito sa braso ni Christian na nakapalibot sa bewang niya. Sam looked at her then to Christian. Nagpalipat lipat ang tingin nito sa kanilang dalawa. Nakita niya ang pag kurap kurap ni Sam. Lumunok din ito at ibinaling ang tingin sa asawa niya.

"C-Christian? Anong ginagawa mo dito?"

Sam looked at Christian and Amelia bit her lip nang maramdaman ang tensiyon sa pagitan ng dalawa. She thought Christian is still in a relationship with Sam? Bakit ganito ang tingin ng asawa niya dito? It was full of hate and animosity. Madilim din ang mukha ni Christian.

Wala lang ba ang pang aakit niya kay Sam dahil matagal nang hiwalay ang dalawa? Kailan pa? Bakit hindi sinabi ni Sam sa kanya? Ano bang nangyayari?

Bridgette cleared her throat. Pumasok na ito sa loob.

"Sam wants to continue her mentorship. There was a clause in the agreement bago mamana ni Sam ang kumpanya ni Mr. Del Rio."

"I-I see." Napalunok siya nang magtama ang mata nila ni Sam. Puno ng hinanakit ang mga mata nito habang nakatingin sa kanya. Muling dumakio ang tingin nito sa braso ni Christian.

Christian unwrapped his arms around her. "If it's about business, I'll go outside. Kain tayo sa labas." Kumindat pa ito. Kinuha ang travelling bag at muling tumingin kay Sam.

"See you, Honey."

"S-See you."

She gulped when she set her eyes on Sam. It was a heavy stare and a piercing one.

"Boss. Mag d-draft na ako ng contract. It wouldbe for 1 month only dahil ilang buwan na din namang andito si Sam. The clausesaid she could continue for at least more than 6 months. Tsaka pipirmahan moang kontrata, Boss." Bridgette's lips quirk up in a corner, bago ito sumaldo sakanya at iniwan siya kay Sam.
