- CHAPTER 24 -

❝Tell me to stop Remus.❞

Hogwarts, sixth year.

FOR THE GRYFFINDORS, Halloween was always the best time of the year. Out of all of the houses, they had held the most exciting parties in Hogwarts.

Even students from the other houses would come to celebrate. Wearing the most random costumes and getting firewhiskey involved, it was definitely a lot of fun.

"Okay, we can all go as our animagus forms! A stag, a dog, a rat, a wolf and now, Phoenyx as a fox!"

"Pads, we've been doing that for the past 2 years!"

"Alright then, what's your idea?" he asked while raising his eyebrows.

"I reckon we should all just go as whatever we want. We don't have to match all the time," Peter said with a frown.

He had been meaning to match with Emma. However, he didn't know how to break it to the boys standing in front of him.

"I'll go as the devil then. The ladies will love that for sure," James said with a wink.

"Reg's going as an angel, did you know?"

Hearing Sirius say that, James was definitely very excited. To be able to see Regulus in such a costume, he could not wait.

"You and Phoenyx should go as a bride and groom Moony," said Sirius Black with a smirk.

Shoving the boy away, Remus thought back to his conversation with the younger Potter. After a long time of discussion, they had decided to go as Beauty and the Beast, a couple from the girl's favourite muggle book.

In a way, it was definitely fit for the two. Remus, going as the beast and Phoenyx, going as his princess.

For the party, Lily had gone all out dressing up as an Angel as well. Hoping that James would spare her a glance, even if it was just for a second.

However, during the party, she was disappointed to see that the boy's eyes would only linger towards Regulus Black.

"Oh my Reg, what a coincidence!" James said with a shocked face.

Regulus looked at him and rolled his eyes. Just a few hours ago, his brother had forced him to go as an Angel. At first, he didn't know why. But now, seeing James look so breathtaking as the devil, he couldn't help but be happy.

"mon diable, i'm doing great, thanks for asking," he replied while letting out a scoff.

On the other side of the room, when Phoenyx had walked in, Remus could feel his knees go weak.

Phoenyx Potter had taken his breath away. She looked ethereal, to say the least.

The yellow dress hugged her body perfectly. Seeing her look so stunning, Remus couldn't help but want to whisk her away from the party and spend the night alone.

"You look breathtaking Nyx," he said with a soft smile.

"You don't look too bad yourself Lupin," Phoenyx replied while giving him a quick peck on his cheek.

To Phoenyx, the boy had looked absolutely perfect. Although, if you'd ask her, she'd say that it didn't matter what the boy was wearing, he looked beautiful every single day.

Once the firewhisky had spread around, the students started to get intoxicated one by one.

"Bloody hell, you look a lot like my friend Padfoot!" James said while poking the boy's cheek with his finger.

"And you look like my friend James!"

"Merlin, you sound just like him too!"

At the two boys antics, Regulus couldn't help but smile. For the first time in his life, he actually felt like everything was going to be okay.

Even though it had been a long time since they ran away, this was the first time where the situation had started to feel so real to the boy.

In the past, he would've never thought that he'd step a single foot inside the Gryffindor common room. But now, being able to do whatever he wanted with so much freedom, it all was just too unbelievable.

"Remus, I think i'm gonna change my shoes for the day," Phoenyx said with a frown.

"I'll help you," he said while holding her hand in his.

Remus took the two to his dorm room and helped the girl sit on his bed. Once she was settled, the boy kneeled down on the floor and took off her heels, replacing them with a more comfortable pair instead.

"Thank you Rem," she said with a smile.

While they were about to leave, Remus grabbed the girl by her hand and pulled her body closer to his chest.

"I couldn't keep my eyes off of you today," he whispered while looking straight into her eyes.

Pushing the boy slightly against the bed, Phoenyx started pressing soft kisses on his scars. When she reached the one right above his collarbone, Remus couldn't help but tighten his grip on the girl.

"Nyx.." he said with hesitation.

"Tell me to stop Remus."
