"The deceased body is confirmed as a female around 25 years old. The police suspects that this horrible murder-"
"Please, I beg you. Stop with the news already!" my brother yelled as he turned off the television.
"Is a serial killer out there?" I asked.
"Nonsense. Just because 2 kills happened in one month doesn't mean it's a serial killer. I bet the second person waited for the time to put the murder case on another person. Also don't forget that the 1st one suspects to be a suicide." He said while shrugging his shoulders as high as he can.
From the 32 years old junior detective in drugs squad of Clinfrad or the youngest detective in our small town, it's not the answer I expected.
But, he's my brother. He's who he is. For the world he's a charming, responsible and kind young man but for the home he's just a nuisance who always complains about every single thing.
But what could I do. After all he's my one and only big brother.
The phone rang far corner on the dining table. My brother went and answered the phone. It was 8.00a.m in the morning. While looking at brother's serious face I poured milk in to the bowl of cereal.
As soon as he kept the phone on the table I knew something wasn't right. The calmness in his eyes were terrifying.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"It's the girl. They transferred her case to the drugs squad"
"Girl? Which girl?"
"The one got killed last night. I'll tell details later but now I have to go to station."
"But.. but there were six stabs to her vital points. It was definitely a murder. Why they..." I mumbled as my brother walked past me.
"Anyway, be safe,ok! I promise I won't miss the dinner this time." He said while patting my head. I felt comfort.
That's his enchant. Whatever the problem I'm in, one pat on the head will disappear all of my problems. I felt secure when I'm around my big brother.
