We drove to the hospital in silence.I was fighting back tears.Ace been my best since I can remember.The thought of loosing him too broke me.
"He gone be aight, Ace a solider."Kraze said looking at me.
"Yeah he will."I said reassuring myself.
We made our way to the hospital room and everyone was outside.
"What happened?"I asked.
"We was leaving the store and uh a black SUV pulled up and uh they just started letting of shots,Ace got hit then they drove off."Niyah stuttered through her tears.
We all sat in the lobby awaiting news from the doctors.A few hours passed and a doctor walked in.
"Are you guys here for Aiden Zanoie Porter?"He asked.
"Yes."We said getting up from our seats.
"Is he going to be okay?"Leo asked.
"Ah I wouldn't want to answer that out here let's wait till we get in the room."He replied.
"So that's a no."Asian said mugging him.
"I never said that,however it's our policy to not share anything information outside of the office."
"Guys cut the poor man some slack he's just trying to do his job."I said sympathising with the old man.
"No worries I understand this can be very stressful."He said.
We got to his office.
"Please sit down."He asked.
"Mr Porter was shot a total of four times.His vital organs weren't hit but he lost a lot of blood in the process-
"What are you tryna say."Kiyah cut him off.
"Let him finish Kiyah."Hackz said wiping her tears.
"What i'm saying is there's a very slim chance Mr Porter won't make it. With the right amount of rest and care he should be have a smooth recovery."
"He could of just said that."Asian whispered to Leo.
"Before I let you guys see him I have to ask a few questions.Was any of you a witness at the crime scene?"He asked.
"You da feds?"Kraze said.
"No no nothing like that it would just help us find a suspect."
Niyah was in no shape or form to even speak she looked so traumatised.
"Lemme tell you sum here old man."Kraze started.
lWe don't fuck wit da law.His hospital bills is all covered so you do your job and we'll do ours got it?"Kraze said.
"Oh okay no worries I didn't mean to offend you. It's just you know I thought-
"Sir I don't give a fuck about what you thought can we see our friend."Kraze cut him off.
"Sure sure follow me this way."He shuffled.
We was taken down a long corridor.
"You didn't have to be so mean."I said to Kraze.
"Nah fuck that bs this is how they get you involved with da feds ion fuck with that shit."He replied slightly annoyed.
We got to the room and Ace was in a coma.Seeing him there brought me back to my parents funeral.I couldn't afford to loose another person who was so close to me.
It was all a bit to much for Niyah.She threw up in the toilets.
"Can we go home?"She asked me.It was clear she was exhausted and in severe shock.
"I'll drop you guys."Kraze offered.
"I gotta go get my mum from the airport."Hackz said.
"Asian staying at mine."Leo said.
"Who said that."She said mugging him.
"I did."He said lifting her.
* * * Kraze took Niyah,Kiyah and I home.
"Have you picked your room yet?"Kiyah asked.
"No not yet."I said looking at Kraze.
"Well Imma stay in Niyahs room tonight.Keep her some company."Kiyah said.
"Alright let me know if yall need anything."I said.
Kraze and I stayed downstairs watching movies.
"You hungry?"He asked.
"You tryna say i'm too skinny.Stay feeding me."I replied.
"Aight I ain't never gone ask again."He said mugging me.
"Don't say that gosh I was playing.Doordash some wendy's."
* * * It was getting late and I still hadn't picked a room.
"Soooooo you gone help me pick a room or what?"
"You really are a brat."Kraze replied laughing.
