POV Amy
(Samia) ok campers do you all have sleeping bags bug spray and assigned carry ons!?

4 days in to summer camp and we're leaving main. This is my first year here at camp starlight but i think I get it. One day out of the week we pack up leave for 2 nights and come back. No electricity no phones or cell service no cozy cabin with showers nothing just us and anything we can truck out.

(Jess)Amy...AMY!
(Amy)Huh?
(Jess) finally, do you have a hairbrush? I left mine at the lake this morning and it's closed so I can't go get it.
(Amy) ya sure I got one we can share I don't mind.
(Jess) oh my gods your a life saver I can imaging go I'm two day with out brushing I'd ever get the knots out.

Jess is what people are calling their camp best friend. Where you bond at camp tell each other you'll talk and for get about them till next year. If there is a next year. I moved here with my family last year and they thought camp was a good friend making Idea but the only two people I e bonded with are drone different states and I might never see them again.so not exactly working.
(Samia) you girls ready to go?
(Jess) yep
(Amy) I guess
(Samia) hey pipe up I know this is you first trip but that's what makes it exciting. Trust me we'll be ok. Else wise Jess wanna help me grab the last of the food?
(Jess) sure! You ok alone
(Percy) she's not alone for I AM HERE!
(Jess) on u weebs we'll be right back.
(Percy) what ever. so you did you know.....

I zoned out after that but I'm lucky to have a counter like Samia. She's nice and has been nothing but sweet an reassuring sense this all started. And then Jess and Percy are the best with Jess being enthusiastic but leave headed she balanced out Percy's weirdo mess. Then I'm in the middle we're like a puzzle.

(Samia) ok campers were gonna star heading out!
(Percy) let's goooo
(Jess) you ready?
(Amy) ready as I'll ever be

As we walk out the cabin the heat reminds me that this 15 minute hike might just fell like a century.
