"Bella, please don't." Jacob said as Bella tried to shift closer to him as he drove them back to the Swan house. "I know I'm warm, but don't." He said. Jacob had accepted the fact that Bella wasn't his imprint and that they were just meant to be friends. Bella nodded awkwardly. "It must be nice never getting cold." She said. "It's a wolf thing." Jacob responded. "It's not. It's a Jacob thing. You're just warm. You're like your own sun." Bella said. Jacob and Elizabeth made eye contact over Bella's form. Elizabeth shook her head. Jacob pulled up the house and Elizabeth noticed a familiar black Mercedes in the driveway.

"Someone's here." Jacob realized. "A vampire." "How do you know?" Bella asked. "I can smell it." Jacob said. Elizabeth jumped out of the truck with Landon in her arms. She ran up the front steps and slammed the door open. Alice suddenly appeared in front of her. "Alice!" The blonde human girl exclaimed. She placed Landon down on the ground before wrapping her arms around the shorter brunette vampire. "What are you doing here? Are Rosalie and Emmett here?" She asked as Alice hugged her back. "Not yet. They're on the way. Where's Bella?" Alice asked. Said girl opened the door and Elizabeth turned on the lights.

"Alice? Oh my God!" Bella said hugging the vampire. Alice pushed Bella away. "Bella! What are you..." Alice trailed off. "I'm sorry, I just... I can't believe you're here. Is..." Bella trailed off. "Would you like to explain to me how you're alive?" Alice yelled. "What?" Bella asked, confused. "I saw a vision of you. You jumped off a cliff. Why in the hell would you try and kill yourself?" Alice explained. "I mean, what about Charlie? What about-" Bella cut her off. "I didn't try to kill myself. I was cliff jumping. Recreationally. It was fun." She said. "Usually you do that with your clothes off." Elizabeth shouted, exhausted with her sister's antics.

Alice scoffed. She sped around the kitchen and made Bella a glass of hot tea and then they sat down on the couch. Elizabeth turned on some cartoons for Landon. "I have never met anyone more prone to life threatening idiocy." Alice said to Bella. "I just... Did you... Did you tell him?" Bella asked. Alice shook her head. "No. He only calls in once every few months." Alice paused for a second. "He said he wants to be alone." There was a silence. "Bella, Elizabeth, what is that god awful wet dog smell?" Alice asked, pulling a disgusted face.

"Um, that's probably us." Bella responded. "Or it's Jacob and Embry." She added. "Jacob and Embry who?" Alice questioned. "Jacob and Embry are kind of werewolves." Bella said. "Werewolves are not good company to keep." Alice said. Elizabeth laughed. "Rosalie said the same thing." "Speak for yourself." Jacob said, entering the room. "I had to make sure you were safe." Jacob said, mainly to Elizabeth. "I thought you couldn't protect me here?" Bella asked. Jacob shrugged. "Well, I'm not going to hurt them." Alice said. "No, you're just a harmless Cullen. I'm talking about the other bloodsucker who tried to kill Bella because of you." Jacob said.

"Victoria?" Alice questioned. "Yeah, Victoria's been around." Bella said. "I didn't see her. I didn't see you get pulled out of the water either." Alice turned to face Jacob. I can't see past you and your pack of mutts." She growled. "Don't get me upset." "Hey, stop." Bella said. "Or things are gonna get very ugly." "Stop, stop, stop, stop." Bella said, getting in between them. "Um... we'll give you a minute." Alice said, pulling Elizabeth into the kitchen. They left Landon in the living room. He was too entranced in his cartoons to notice anything around him.

"Bella's going to meet her real mate soon." Alice said once they were out of earshot of Bella and Jacob. "What? Who is he?" Elizabeth questioned. Alice shook her head. "I don't know. Just not Edward." She responded. Elizabeth giggled. The phone rang. Elizabeth went to grab it but Jacob beat her to it. Alice got sucked into a vision. "Swan residence." He answered. "He's not here right now. He's arranging a funeral." He said to the person on the other end. The line went dead and Jacob slammed the phone back onto the wall.

"Who was that?" Bella asked. "What?" "Always in the way." Jacob growled. "Who was that?" Bella asked again. "Bella, step back." Elizabeth warned. "Jake, who was that?" "Bella." Alice said, snapping out of her vision. "Bella, it's Edward. He thinks you're dead. Rosalie told him why I came here." They turned to face Jacob. "Why would you... Why didn't you let me speak to him?" Bella asked angrily. "He didn't ask for you." "I don't care!" Bella yelled back. "Bella, he's going to the Volturi. He wants to die too." Bella and Alice ran out of the house and towards Alice's car. Jacob ran after them.

Elizabeth sighed in exasperation and sat down on the couch next to her son. Landon yawned, his little head starting to drop. Elizabeth picked him up, getting ready to walk up the stairs when the door opened. "Jake-" She started off, freezing once she saw who it was. Her jaw dropped. "Hi." Her mates said. She placed Landon back down on the couch before running into their arms. "You're back. You're really back." She whispered in shock. Emmett leaned down and placed a kiss on her head. "Yeah, we are." He said. "I missed you both so much." Elizabeth said. "We missed you too." Rosalie responded before sniffing the air.

"Why do you smell like dog?" She asked. Elizabeth laughed nervously. "Yeah, that's probably Embry." She said. "You jealous?" She teased. Emmett shook his head. "Not jealous. Just... possessive." He responded. "Well, I guess you're gonna have to get rid of it then." Elizabeth said. Emmett and Rosalie's eyes darkened. "Oh, really?" Rosalie asked as Emmett went to grab Elizabeth. "Wait." Elizabeth exclaimed before hopping down from Emmett's arms. She turned on the baby monitor that was in the living room. "Okay, continue."

Emmett scooped her up in his arms before they sped upstairs. He gently placed Elizabeth on her bed before him and Rosalie attacked her neck with kisses. Elizabeth moaned. Emmett moved so that Elizabeth was sitting on his lap as he slammed his lips onto hers. His hand drifted up to the inside of her right thigh where his mark laid. He groaned into Elizabeth's mouth. Rosalie moved Elizabeth's hair out of the way and continued to kiss her neck as her hand slid to her mark on Elizabeth's left side. Emmett suddenly pulled away. Elizabeth whined, eyes glazed over. After months of being away from her mates, the simplest touches left her yearning for more.

Rosalie giggled. "Okay, angel. Come back down to earth now." She said, softly rubbing her mate's shoulders. "Is it gone?" Elizabeth whispered. Emmett laughed. "Yeah. It's gone." He said. "Good. Don't want anybody else but you." Elizabeth said. "Are you gonna come home with us?" Rosalie asked. "The rest of the family wants to see you." She said as Emmett sped around the room packing Elizabeth and Landon's bags. Elizabeth stood up. "Yeah, I'm just gonna use the bathroom right quick." She said. Rosalie and Emmett nodded, smiling before heading to join Landon downstairs.

Elizabeth went to the bathroom and finished up in there before exiting her room with a giant smile on her face. Her mates were finally back. "Hello, Elizabeth." That smile dropped. Elizabeth turned to face the redheaded vampire in her bedroom. "Victoria." She whispered. "I told you I would be back." Victoria said. "Such a shame that the old man had to die for it." She said sarcastically. "You killed Harry." Elizabeth realized. "Oh, yes." Victoria said. "Now, it's your turn." She lunged towards Elizabeth and sunk her teeth into her neck. Elizabeth screamed, alerting Rosalie and Emmett downstairs. Victoria quickly pulled away and disappeared. The last thing Elizabeth saw was the redhead jumping out the window. Then, she fell to the ground and it all turned black.
