Vanessa Stevens is waiting at the airport for her long-term girlfriend, Jess Bowen, to arrive home from a UK tour. She strikes up a conversation with a close by stranger about all the different memories of her relationship with Jess.

"I hate flying." I heard Jess groan from the other side of the phone. "I promise it'll be worth it.""Well of course it will... I get to come home to you, stupid." I smiled and the girl next to me raised an eyebrow. "Anyways..." She sighed softly, "I have to go... I love you.." I ran a hand through my hair quickly and smiled. "I love you too. See you soon, Jess." I heard the click of the phone and slipped it back into my pocket. "You look nervous, stranger. Girl troubles?" I'm not usually the kind of person to just talk to strangers, but she was right, I'm nervous as hell. "Not exactly troubles.." She nodded and pulled her legs up into the chair she was sitting in. "Wanna talk about it?" I turned so I was facing her in a way and smiled. "Sure.." I held out a hand awkwardly, "Vanessa Stevens... Well.. just Van." She shook my hand and leant back in her chair. "Alexis.. or Lexi.. Whichever." I looked at her and cleared my throat. "Well.. I guess i really am nervous.. I'm proposing to my girlfriend today." She grinned, her teeth a bright shining white. "Aww how cute. What's her name?" I closed my eyes for a second. I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face. "Jess Bowen.." Her eyes widened and she gasped. "The Summer Set? That Jess Bowen?" So she was a fan. Now that I took a good look at her i realized the small tattoo on her wrist. The band logo that completely covers the music room in our basement. I nodded and she smiled. "I love them! When did you guys meet?" Talking about the love of my life eases the nervousness. "Come on! That's like the easiest and cheesiest thing you could ask. But we first met when we were both sixteen." She cocked her head to the side. "Highschool sweethearts?" I shook my head. "Nope." I cleared my throat and leaned back in my seat.

"Van? Helloooooo. Earth to Van." I heard a sigh next to me. "Vanessa Stevens!" My brother shoved my shoulder and I jumped. "What?" "Are you gonna skate or what?""What do you care, dumbass?" I rolled my eyes and yanked my skateboard from my brother. "Whatever.. Come home when you're done." He mumbled a string of curses as he walked from me and I tried to quickly put my hair back into place. I hadn't even realized he had been talking to me. All I was focused on was the girl banging on the drum set in the house across the street from the skate park. When I looked back to focus on her some more I saw her raising an eyebrow at me and smirking. She waved me over and I quickly picked up my belongings from the half pipe I was sitting on and did a little jog over. "Like what you see?" "Huh?" I set my stuff on my skateboard and leaned against her steps. "You've been staring.." She laughed and I felt a warm blush spread across my cheeks. "You're a pretty good drummer." She smiled and I felt something I didn't know I could feel... butterflies.

Alexis was laughing her ass off at my awkwardness. "So.. you just stared at her?" I blushed at the memory and looked down to try and hide it. "Um.. yeah..." I had seen her around my high school and hanging around the mall and places like that. It's like every time I saw her I was lost in a trance. Even when we were hanging out together nothing could take my eyes off of her. No matter what I was always hers. She had my heart in her hands even if she didn't feel the same towards me. "Anything particular happen where you knew you were in love with her?" This girl wanted all the facts. I could tell by her eyes she was curious. "Yeah.. One night on my roof.."

"Just don't, Jess." "Don't what? Are you just going to ignore the fact that bitch cheated on you?" At this point we knew everything about each other. She had my back and I had hers. We'd fight against the world with only each other if we had to. "Whatever, Jess. Bye.""Don't you da-" I sighed and hung up the phone. She lived like four blocks away and it was three in the morning. What was she going to do about it? I picked up my guitar and climbed up on my roof through my window and played something I had written a couple hours before. "Vanessa?" I heard someone call from my yard. "Jess?" I looked down at her and raised an eyebrow. She was dressed in her pajama pants, black tank top, and what I recognized to be a hoodie I had left at her house. I climbed back in the window and set my guitar down on the bed. Then I quickly made my way down the stairs and opened the door, letting her in. "In so much of a hurry you didn't put your contacts in?" She rolled her eyes and pushed past me. "I was worried and you know it." I grabbed her hand and pulled her up the stairs after me. I noticed her lace our fingers together, so she could get a better grip and smiled. She followed me out the window and up the to the roof. "Van..." She laid next to me and I sighed, "Jess... it is okay... I may have liked her... But I'm in love with another girl." "It's obviously me." She laughed and I felt my throat dry up and my palms sweat. "H-huh?? She shoved my shoulder, "Dude i'm kidding... chill.?"
