Start from the beginning

"You got in trouble again? This is the 6th time this month" Thomas said shutting the door and walking towards his son

"But dad I-" getting cut off Thomas slapped him across the cheek hard

"Me and you mother didn't raise you to be a dick to everyone, your in school and getting everything you want because I had nothing for a childhood. Your throwing yours away"
Thomas yelled at him angrily

Nathan's eyes brimmed with tears his dad talking down to him hurt more then anything.
"I excepted better from you but it's just disappointment" Thomas said looking straight into his eyes

"Well im sorry dad- im sorry im not like any of them" he pointed his hand towards the window of his cousins playing "im sorry im not Taylor, im so-" getting cut off

Thomas grabbed his hand forcefully
"Don't speak of your sister that way"

Nathan finally let a tear roll down
"All you care about is her huh? I don't matter right? It's fine I get it" with all his strength compared to Thomas he forcefully pushed him away. Grabbing a small box and his skateboard he ran downstairs

Thomas ran after him
"I fucking hate you! Your a monster!" Nathan yelled at Thomas before running out the front door and out to the streets to who knows where.

Thomas stopped out on the porch and watched Nathan leave, y/n came up to him
"Hon.." she said softly rubbing his arm

Thomas couldn't speak he just pointed to Nathan riding away.

"Did you hit him?" She asked looking at him
Shamefully he put his head down nodding
"You don't need to hit our son to get a point across" she sighed brining him inside

"Let him be for a bit"
——-

Nathan walked into the woods he had a pocket knife with him and his weed along with some papers.

Sitting against a tree he touched his cheek before retracting his hand fast from the sting.
He cried. He didn't have energy to do anything else but cry. Brining his knees up to his face he burrowed his head down and cried.

Taking and old photos of his dad and him on his 13 birthday he grabbed the knife and scribbled over his dads face. Every picture in his room Thomas face was scratched over.

Pulling his sleeve up he seen the small cuts across his arms sighing he took a deep breath and looked up at the sky as it was getting darker. Finally getting the courage to get up he walked deeper into the woods before going across a camp sight.

He seen family looking out under the stars. Some people he went too school with making out with their partners. He didn't understand why everything else sucked.
Deciding to get up he grabbed his skateboard and walked home.

It would take about 30 min but he didn't want to see anyone. Especially not his dad.
Quietly walking into the house he shut the door
The phone rang surprising him he ran fast to pick it up "hello?" He asked

"Hey Nate it's Brody! You coming over next week?" His friend asked on the phone

Chuckling he leaned his forehead on the wall
"No- my dads a fucking idiot and won't let me go I'm grounded"

"Damn why don't you just run away? I mean they don't pay attention to you" Brody said

Nathen slowly walked to the kitchen grabbing and ice pack to put on his cheek
"My mom and grandma need me. I'm here for them" nate sighed leaning against the counter.

"What happened this time with your dad?" Brody asked

"The same thing that happens every week, he doesn't get me."
Brody chuckled before soon hanging up

Sighing Nathan walked up the stairs, going towards his room shutting the door.
Walking in all his drawers were opened
He turned and seen that all the pictures he's messed up were gone "shit"

————
It was 10:30 when y/n asked for Nathan to come in hers and Thomas room.

His heart was pounding. He slowly walked in to his parents room shutting the door, Thomas was sat in a chair holding a sleeping Taylor while y/n was on the bed with the pictures in her hand.

"Yes?" He asked
"Cane you explain what this is?" She asked

Gulping he couldn't speak
"Pictures..." he mutters out
Sighing she flipped through each picture
"Why would you do this? These are memories of you and your fa-" she got cut off
"Thomas. Me and Thomas" Nathan said bluntly

Thomas looked over at Nathan
A pang hit his heart sharp. "Nathan Hewitt
Do not speak like that toward your father"
Y/n said standing up

"Don't ever say Thomas" y/n looked at him
"Why? You gonna hit me too? Gonna call me a disappointment? No wonder you two are perfect. Why don't you just care about your child rather then me" Nathan said pointing to Taylor

Thomas walked past him going to Taylor's room to put her in her bed before shutting her door then going back to Nathan and y/n.
Thomas shut their door going to stand beside
Y/n.

Nathan never looked towards Thomas.
"You apologize to your dad" y/n looked at Thomas then Nathan
"Who?, what should I apologize for?"

"Nathan I swear you will have no privileges if you don't just say sorry" Thomas stared at him

Nathan chuckled a bit through the tears that fell on his cheeks
"I'm not saying sorry to someone to doesn't give two fucks about me, I'm not sorry for anything I've done. I wish I had a different father. I hate you. I will always hate you. Your a fucking monster.
Your not my dad. You lost that title the moment you told Taylor you loved her more then me. I'll never forgive you"
Nathan broke down at the end before walking out the room to his locking the door

Y/n was shock she turned to Thomas
Tears flew down his face, he sniffles wiping his tears away. "I was just messing with Taylor..I didn't mean it" he mumbled

Y/n was torn between the two.
She pulled Thomas face towards her kissing his lips "honey..your way to harsh on him."
Thomas sobbed a little
"I..I'm sorry" he mumbled through the cries
———
Nathan blasted music as he sliced away at his arm. Tears brimmed his eyes.
He regretted calling his dad Thomas..no matter how much he hated him he loves his dad.

Thomas and Nathan's relationship was difficult.
They both weren't good with words or emotions.

Nathan kept hearing disappointment
Over and over in his head.
"Am I really?"
He looked toward Charlie's shot gun hanging up on the wall.
