Come With Me Now (OC x Yuzuru Hanyu)

Third POV

The clock struck 10 pm.

Yuzuru buttoned his coat up to the neck, and slipped on the yarn gloves. He stuck one leg outside the window and then landed on the white cold flakes surrounding the Hanyu household.

Mairu lives 5 minutes away so all Yuzuru had to do was go through backyards to not be seen by oncoming traffic.

The boy arrived at her window on the first floor and began to tap. Mairu jumped from her bed to open the window.  "Your nose is red." 

"Let's go to the lake," Yuzuru shivers after a wind gust blows against his skin.  "The lake is frozen. We can skate."

"Yuzu, I don't want to carry my skates to your yard. It's so cold. I don't want to go..." she stammered indecisively.

"How do you want to be a figure skater when you cant handle cold weather."

Mairu thought to herself for a second, touché. Yuzuru is already incredibly talented. Even when its colder outside she is willing to skate with him. It's been done 30 times before and none of their parents know. "Okay let me dress up." It only took minutes to put on her winter gear and go out the window. Yuzuru carried Mairu's skates and his own so she could throw snowballs at his back.

He liked having her attention even if it was her throwing snow or foam balls when they play at each other's houses. He liked her.

Yuzuru helped Mairu put her skates on before strapping his own. The lake had been frozen for a while and it is strong enough to hold the both of them. As Mairu tied her laces, Yuzuru glided on the ice and did a single jump. "Incredible!" Mairu obnoxiously applauded. "Are you coming?"

"Hang on, one more knot." She says and starts her laces once more.

Yuzuru continued to glide, spreading his arms wide. "Imagine going on competitions together at last?" There was no response from Mairu. "Mai, did you hear me?" He asked once more after stopping on the ice. "Mairu?"

His eyes searched for his best friend. But the only thing he saw on the ice was one skate. The one that had a Care Bear with a rainbow embedded on the side. He skated towards it, gripping it in his hand and looking down checking for any signs of her falling through the ice.

A stomach turning scream made him jump. "Mai!" Yuzuru screamed, now kicking off his skates running barefoot to the screams direction. "Mairu!"

"Yuzuru!"

Three men had Mairu over their shoulder, forcefully shoving her into the trunk of a red big car. This made every hair on his body stand up. He literally froze. "No!" The men all looked at Yuzuru, indicating they did not know he's witnessing this.

When they made a step toward him, Yuzuru reached into his coat and aimed at pistol the thugs. Shakily and out of reflex he shoots one of them on the shoulder. But missed.  "Yuzu!" Mairu wailed and thrashed her legs until the trunk was shut.

He could shoot again, and again, though fear overtook his body.

Yuzuru made a run for it back to his house, wailing for his life. The lights to his home flipped on right as he looks back at the men run back the way they came. "Mother!..."

He banged on the locked front door. "Mom!!" Yuzuru cried and finally the door opens and he hugs his mother.

"What are you doing outside?!"

"Mairu got taken! Mom she got taken by some men."

"What?! Who?" Yumi took Yuzuru inside the warm house then proceeded to call the authorities.

Throughout questioning, Yuzuru hugged the only skate that had fallen off Mairu's feet. He got in trouble for possessing a loaded weapon but eventually his father took the blame for leaving it within reach. Even owning a weapon got them in big trouble, as it is illegal to carry firearms.

In a matter of days, Mairu's face was plastered on every news outlet and poster. A 30 thousand dollar reward for her safely return was active and it remained that way for two years. Mairu's parents grieved, and they were furious at Yuzuru for making their daughter leave the safety of her room. It earned him a slap on the face when he attempted to apologize.

It got so bad they cut all form of communication with the Hanyus. When in reality it was never Yuzuru's intention for the tragedy to happen.

When the search was called off Yuzuru was devastated. From day one he couldn't leave the house and would only go out the backyard. An owl's hoot would frighten him enough back into his room.

Therapy had became a routine every week to cope with the trauma. As much as he wanted to quit figure skating he couldn't bare the thought of not being out in the ice. It is his whole life and there wasn't anything else.

Mairu's disappearance only inspired him to do the most and accomplish what they both wanted...
