Chapter 1: Canteen

Sa walong bilyong taong nakatira sa mundong 'to, even the thousands of students studying in this school, would it be possible that he's here? The person which they called soulmate? But whatever, it can wait and I know if he's the one for me, we'll meet soon, at the right time and place.

Nasa kalagitnaan na kami ng klase, the first semester ended with a blast, as in blast kasi pati utak namin malapit sumabog sa kahirap-hirap na mga test. Kahit naman siguro ako na laging representative ng mga competitions ay mahihirapan din 'no. I won't deny that because it's really hard to study.

"Good Morning, class," Prof Santos greet us, helping me to come back from my reverie.

We greeted him back and sit down.

While our teacher is preparing his things to discuss, a sudden noise from my classmates caught my attention.

"Sina Andrei nasa labas dadaan, omg!" a girl at the back murmured.

Andrei is one of the popular people on campus, he's a volleyball player, not the varsity player but a good one. His cousin, the spiker, is the team leader and the varsity player on the team.

Andrei is very charming, kind, approachable, and good-looking. He has tan skin, a slit eye, a pointy nose and, lips which I can say is his asset. He's 5"11.

While his cousin, Keith, is a shy type of boy, gentleman, active youth leader, and my crush. He's also approachable, not unless he's with 'that' girl. He has lighter skin, a bow-shaped lip, and a meek-eyes which I love the most among his features. He may look like a meek kitten but he's totally different in games, he looks like a ferocious lion especially when he spikes the ball.

I have had a crush on him for almost 3 years now, it started in the church when I saw him there, accommodating people, especially elderlies. We can't deny that it's very pleasant to see men like that, like? Jeez, it's a green and a plus point for a guy.

I like how he plays volleyball too since I'm also a fan of that game. I've always wanted to play volleyball but I can't since I also compete academically, so I just play when I want to and if there's an activity in our school.

We are batchmates, now a fourth-year college, graduating. He's an engineering student, and I am a law student with my cousin, Alice. While Andrei is an architecture student.

"Hi! Andrei," Selena greeted Andrei and the latter just waved his hand for a response.

"Keith, loy! Come here," sir Santos shouted and Keith came back to talk to him.

"Ano po 'yon, sir?" he asked looking at our professor, not minding the noise that my classmates are making.

"Pwede mo bang kunin ang charger ng laptop ko? I forgot to bring it with me and my laptop won't last in my discussion," sir asked and Keith just nodded, then looked in my direction.

Dumbfounded. Astonished by what he just did. I mean it's not a big deal but I was just surprised because I thought he'll just look at our professor since he's talking to him.

'Maybe he's looking outside since I'm near the window,' I presumed so I can relax and focus on my studies.

"I think tumingin siya sayo," paninira ng cousin ko sa pagpapakalma ko sa sarili ko. 'Great!'

"Tumingin lang siya sa labas, I'm near the window so maybe that's all," I insisted not minding her.

"Hindi talaga! I think may crush din siya sayo," pangungulit niya pa.

"And what is your basis? Yung pagtingin niya lang sa 'bintana'? At manahimik ka nga baka may makarinig ayoko ng eskandalo 'no," pagtataray ko para manahimik na siya at makapagrelax at mapakalma ko na rin 'tong heart ko.
