Most of the vowels are naturally not written, which is a challenge when you face a new word.
The vowels are:
اَ / ـَ
Pronounced "a"
The writing اَ comes in the start of the words, without any symbol as plain ا .
اِ / -ِ
Pronounced "e"
The writing اِ comes in the start of the words, without any symbol as plain ا .
اُ / ُ_
Pronounced "o"
The writing اُ comes in the start of the words, without any symbol as plain ا .
آ / ا
Probably "aa"
The writing آ always comes in the start of a word, while ا comes in the middle. Words starting with ا and it's Pronounced "aa" are used as lazy texting and you won't be able to see them in serious writings such as books.
او / و
The letter و is pronounced both "v" or "oo/u". For vowels, I just explain the "oo/u" one. او is written in the start, while و is written in the middle or end or a word. Not to be confused with _ُ
ای / ی
The letter ی is pronounced both "y" and "ii"
For vowels, I just explain the "ii" one. ای is written in the start, while ی is written in the middle or end or a word.
ع
This letter is somehow an emphasized "e". (Tip: it sounds like you're choking on saying e)
ه
The letter ه is pronounced both "h" and "e/eh". But the one pronounced "e/eh" is always in the end of a word, both connected or disconnected, but NOT in the middle or start.
Things such as a, an or the doesn't exist in Persian, and the words are addressed directly. Sometimes, we put a ه (pronounced e/eh) at the end, which means "one" or "that", and the short form of the verb "است" (which means is).
Note: there's something as _ّ which is called tashdid, which is an emphasizing mark.
