part 5

i woke up squinting my eyes the bright sun being in my face then i sat up yawning and nudging derek awake he woke up the same way i did and we just looked at each other with our eyes barely open

Derek: damn i ain't mean to fall asleep
Y: shit me either
Derek: i guess it's too late to ask if i can sleep over
Y: i guess so well congratulations
Derek: about
Y: being the first guy to actually still be here when i wake up
Derek: that's kind of depressing
Y: ehh none i'm not used to so forget it
Derek: well congratulations to me
Y: ok well we should probably at least show our faces at school today
Derek: or you could help me set up for my party tomorrow
Y: love your idea already well i'm gonna go shower there's a bathroom downstairs you can use then we can take your car since i'm blocked in
Derek: alright meet back in thirty minutes
Y: alright

we both got up going to bathrooms once i made it into mine i once again took a twenty minute shower then got out putting on a crop top some jean shorts and a cardigan with a hat that i may not even put on and sandals i grabbed my keys and purse then walked back down where we said we were gonna meet and derek was standing there in shorts that kinda showed the bottom of his boxers with a white tshirt

Y: ready
Derek: let's go

we walked out the door getting into his car buckling up then he sped off down the street

Y: wow i really should've saw how you drove before i considered getting into a car with you
Derek: what i'm not driving that fast
Y: you're going twenty over the speed limit
Derek: ok we're about to go on a highway
Y: ok we're about to right now we're not
Derek: well won't you look at that now we are

the second his front tire touched the highway he sped up even more and turned up the radio at first i was gripping my seatbelt with full force but once i realized although he was driving fast he was being safe about it i relaxed a bit a few minutes later we made it to a store and he parked the car

Y: nice to see we're still alive
Derek: see i know how to drive
Y: sure you do

we got out the car and walked to the entrance grabbing a cart and walking around getting things for his party but also telling random teenagers our age about it instead of telling them the address we gave them directions especially since we planned on covering his address and street name the night before you can never be too cautious people are dangerous and weird we probably got way more than we needed but we went fifty fifty on the cost of it just because i wasn't gonna let him pay that much for everything then we went back to the car popping his trunk and putting all the bags in it we finished and we closed the trunk then got back in the car while he started drag racing back onto the highway

Y: are you excited
Derek: i tweeted about it posted it on instagram and snapchat so yea i'm excited hopefully a lot of people show up
Y: your party is the first one since senior year started and the only one happening that night trust me there will be more than enough people
Derek: true ooo there's a beach wanna stop
Y: sure fuck it
Derek: bet

derek turned off the highway to a beach and parked the car and we got out the car taking off our shoes and going to the sand the second we stepped on it derek tapped me and took off running at first i wasn't gonna chase him but honestly i needed to let go for a second so i took off chasing behind him laughing with every step i took i was having the most fun i had in a while which was crazy because all i was doing was chasing a guy around a beach but i loved every second of it he stopped running and i jumped on his back making me and him fall we sat up in the sand just laughing and shaking the grains out of our hair

Y: take a picture of me real quick
Derek: sure

i went into the water and derek followed coming in front of me

Derek: alright give me a pose
Y: smile or don't smile
Derek: don't smile but give me a happy energy
Y: ok this good
Derek: yes that's beyond perfect

derek took the picture then he let me see and airdropped it to me while i posted it

Y: thank you it's amazing
Derek: i'm a perfect picture taker
Y: i see that

we sat back in the sand and talked for hours until the sun went down and we drove back to town we stopped in a random parking lot and bought drinks from wendy's then just sat in the car drinking then and talking

Derek: ok i took a picture of you now it's my turn
Y: ok give me your best shot
