"Where's our son?" A man and a woman stormed into the hospital demanding an answer. The lady at the front desk looked up immediately and had a tint of fear in her eyes.
"We were told he was here, so where there he'll is he?" The mother stood behind while the boys father shouted at the receptionist.

"Uhm, one minute let me look it up for you." The receptionist was a young girl, early to mid 20s and this wasn't the first time people had walked in aggressive like this. But it was the first time anyone with this much power had walked in like that.

"Steve harrington is in room 204. He is visiting a coma patient." Mrs harrington immediately took towards the stairs followed by her husband. It didn't take much looking to find the room and they walked in with our even knocking. When they walked in they were greeted with the sight of their son hugging a young girl who was crying, and another, slightly older girl lying on the bed in multiple casts and a heart monitor beeping by her bedside.

"Steven?" His mother spoke to him calmly, Steve's eyes snapped towards the door upon hearing her voice.
"Mom? Dad? what are you doing here?" He didn't let go of the crying girl whilst he acknowledged them.
"We need to talk to you son." His fathers voice was not as welcoming and sent chills down his spine, but he couldn't show he was afraid.

He nodded and pulled away from the girl, He crouched down so he could talk to her easier.
"Erica, are you going to be okay just with max for a bit? I can radio lucas or dustin, or you can sit outside for a moment to calm down?"
"No, Im going to stay here. But you tell anyone i was crying steve i swear to god." Steve laughed, even when upset erica was still erica.

He nodded and stood up walking towards the door and his father closed it behind him.
"What the hell are you doing?" His father inquired accusingly.
"Visiting a friend." He look at his watch then at a door across the hall, and in that moment a man walked out of it blank faced. His parents followed his line of sight.

"Munson? what are you doing here?" His mother asked with a kind, but obviously fake, smile.
"Visiting my nephew, He almost died the other week. Oh and steve can you bring dustin next time you visit, eddie likes talking to him." Steve smiled and nodded. He got along with mr munson more than he thought he would.

"You hang out with munsons boy?" His father questioned.
"I did, for like a week, then he almost died. But yeah, i'm that time we became friends. He's close with dustin so i kind of have to hang out with him." His parents didn't know who dustin was, or that steve's friend group consisted mainly of children.

"Just don't let him infect your mind with everything he likes." Steve nodded insincerely, he definitely didn't mean it. Three pairs of foot steps were walking up the stairs and straight towards maxes room. Ericas parents came to pick her up and let lucas come with them so he could see max. Everyone knew it wasn't healthy for lucas to visit everyday so they let him come once or twice a week for a full day visit and also he saw her for about five minutes a day every now and again when picking up erica or meeting someone.

Steve saw tears in lucas' eyes and invited him into a hug.
"There's no difference yet. But she's strong, she's going to be okay."
"I just wish it was me, you know?" Lucas sobbed, he was the last person to see max, and he was there when she died.
"Hey, no. Don't say that. Look max is a fighter, she can get out of whatever mind trap she's in. She escaped the first time, and she got out the second, I can't imagine what it was like for you and erica to see her like that when she fell. But El told me something yesterday when she was visiting."

"What was it?" Lucas looked up hopeful.
"She said our plan worked, she was in her happiness memory when El found her. Do you know what memory that was?" He shook his head.
"It was the snowball. Her happiness memory is with you. Lucas. Look, We don't know what happened when, you know who, killed her. We have no idea what it was like for her when he was building it up. But we do know she is strong, she's a fighter. You saw how she stood up to her brother when he had me beaten to a pulp. How she was constantly there for you, for el, for mike, dustin, will, erica, robin, me, eddie, nancy and johnathan. She saved our lives and you and i both know she's not going to give up because of a couple broken bones or that creep."
