|| It was late at night, Saturday, 28th of May. A plain old boring nightshift with the people she knew, the constant buzz of fluorescent lights, the smell of the metallic tasting blood in the air. People being rushed around while she sat on a couch in the doctors break room, tired from the exhausting night she was having.
The television always was being flickered through channels by other young and old doctors with various drinks and paperwork in hand.
Sounds of shuffling could be heard from the door and no-one bothered looking at the sights of patients and doctors rushing by, only a minimal amount of people needed ER and doctors getting pulled into conflicts.
Nothing major at least which means she could finally relax and flick through the channels to see what's going on outside of Hope Zion hospital. Screaming could be heard from down the hall, shocking everyone when the alarm went off ||
(( Time skip to before the nightshift and events before happened ))
|| She stared into the mirror, few bruises and cuts nothing too bad that couldn't be iced or bandaged with a bandaid ||
" Stupid butt hole of a person.. " || The girl muttered to herself, pulling off her shirt to reveal more bruises. Somehow while the girl was bandaging up her cuts, a faint jingle of keys coming from the front door of her and Alex's Apartment. After a bit of shuffling of keys a Brunette, slightly taller than the girl walked into the apartment condo. ||
" Hey Maggie you here? " " Helllooo? " Her voice was filled with confusion and concern of the girl's whereabouts.
I'm in the bathroom Alex, you don't need to worry so much about me " || The girl named "Maggie" answered back to the brunette called "Alex". Alex walks by the kitchen noticing a broken glass bottle of the counter, shattered with blood. ||
" Hey- uhh Maggie? what's this bottle shattered with blood doing out here?"
"....."
" On the counter- "
" It's nothing Alex, just had a friend come over and I guess he left it there- " || The brunette burst down the door, checking if her dear friend was lying to her. Luckily she already got her shirt on and put away the medical supplies she had out beforehand, the only reason she was hiding this is because she doesn't want her friend to worry about her. ||
" Okay then... Sooo, I'm just gonna make dinner, you can do whatever I guess " The brunette said, unsure of what the girl could do to help. Maggie walked over to the couch, it was a long L shaped couch, simply big enough for 5 people to fit on, or two adult women to lay down fully on. She flicked through channels until she stopped on one particular news channel that the two watch together ||
" Uh Alex you might want to see this- "

" ...... "
" w-what?! " The brunette shouted after turning the television off, only then did the other girl sink into the fort of pillows that were on the couch previously.
" Hey Maggie, are you okay? "
" J-just fine " Maggie muttered out in a low whisper. She glanced at the clock on the wall. 10:01pm. Great, in a few minutes she would be late for her shift and so would Alex.
" C'mon Alex, we have to get to the hospital before we're late to our shift, remember? " Maggie said quickly, holding back tears from the news report.
" Okay, I'll get the car started or should we walk? "
" Car, I don't feel like walking today "
" Okay " || The brunette ran out the door, into the elevator and started the car as she left the elevator, while Maggie slowly paced behind her. ||
