A few months have passed and today I was tasked with helping Carlisle prepare for his departure

Carlisle had decided to go off on his own and Aro supported him and his decision

"You know you could come with me" I looked at Carlisle with my eyebrows furrowed

Me and him were able to get along political wise he was a very seemingly collective person but we were never close

"What do you mean?" I asked him as he closed his suitcase

"I'm sure you love it here" I nodded my head not understanding where he was going with this

"Your mate" I froze I have always thought about meeting my mate

I've been alive for over a thousand years already but I had decided to wait

"What about them" I said going back to my usual coldness

"Maybe you'll find them if you come with me" I looked away and shook my head

"Maybe one day Carlisle but for now my place is here with my family" he nodded and agreed wordlessly as we walked out to the entrance of the castle

He turned to me and put one hand on my shoulder

"You know how to find me when you're ready" I nodded and patted his hand as he left out the door

I sighed and walked back to the throne room with a thought filled mind

"Sister?" I looked at Alec I hadn't even realized I had made it to the throne room

"Are you okay?" I nodded and took my spot in the middle of him and Jane

It wasn't unusual for me to be quiet so no one said anything but I could see the looks I was getting from Aro and Marcus

By the end of the last trial I was getting ready to go when the kings stopped me and motioned for everyone to leave

"Raina dear please stay back" I turned towards and kept my hands behind my back

"Masters" I looked at them curiously "tell me dear are you happy here?" Aro asked as my eyebrows furrowed

Of course I'm happy here my family is here my siblings everyone I get to be myself here and I owe them everything

"Of course why do you ask?" I tilted my head slightly as Marcus sighed

"Anisa told us what Carlisle said" my facial expression didn't change I'm not surprised they found out

"Is it true? Do you want to find your mate?" I looked away from them

"When I meet them I'll meet them clearly it's not time for me to meet them yet" I muttered playing with my chaos magic

"Maybe you should go" I snapped my head up and looked at Aro surprised

Why would he say I should go?

"Although trust me I don't want you to go maybe finding your mate will make you happier you've lived over a thousand years without your mate you shouldn't have to continue that way" I huffed and looked away

"I'll be fine I went a thousand years without them when the time comes it comes" they seemed to have a silent conversation between themselves before looking back at me

"If you so decided to go one day we will support you we only ask that you continue your duties as a guard whenever needed to" I nodded "you're my family and I owe you everything I wouldn't choose anybody over you guys" they nodded before dismissing me

Maybe they have a point a thousand years as a vampire without a mate is a long time Alec and Janes mates are apart of the lower guard they were fortunate enough to find theirs

I just don't want to leave my family and my life to go live with others

Maybe one day
