"wanna dance?" i ask, gesturing out to the living room. the "dance floor" is packed. it's a pretty good party tonight, everyone is having a good time and letting loose. the large room is full of people.
"i'd be stupid to say no." he laughs, and i take his hand and lead him out to the living room. the music is deafening, so we don't make too much conversation. i see sylvie and boston sitting on the couch, making out. THAT is new. i laugh to myself, excited to interrogate her about it in the morning. alex and i dance for a few songs before i get bored and a little tired.
"wanna sit down?" he asks, reading my mind. his hands are on my waist, roaming a little.
"yes, please." i groan, my feet hurting after dancing in heels for too long. we sit on the couch by boston and sylvie.
"kylen, hey!" sylvie slurs. she is definitely drunk. by the looks of it, boston is too.
"you two look cozy." i comment as alex pulls me onto his lap. i mentally note that it's not as comfortable as sitting with micah. but im drunk, so i push that thought out of my head.
"boston and i are just besties. just like you and micah are just besties." sylvie says mischievously.
"micah and i ARE just besties." i roll my eyes, not wanting to deal with a drunk sylvie at the moment.
"who's micah?" alex asks. i sigh and turn my body so i'm facing him more.
"a friend." i say dismissively. "it's his house we're in, and his birthday party."
"so not your boyfriend?" alex asks, glancing at my lips.
"nope." i respond, smirking. he leans in and kisses me. i kiss him back, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.
he puts his hand around my neck. his thumb rubbing my jaw softly.
we make out for a little bit, then he pulls away.
"do you want to go upstairs?" alex asks. i immediately am on edge. not that i don't like alex, but i'm scared. i'm a virgin, and i've always been too nervous to go farther than making out with any guy.
maybe alex will be different, i think to myself.
"yeah." i nod, and allow him to lead me towards the stairs. as we are walking, i spot micah staring at alex and i, his expression unreadable. i smile at him and he turns back to the group of guys he was talking with.
as alex locks the door of a guest bedroom, i flop down on the bed. he comes and sits right next to me, his hand on my thigh. i'm nervous. alex can definitely tell that i'm nervous.
"i've never done this before." i admit, which makes him laugh a bit.
"it's okay, i'll take care of you." he replies, leaning in to kiss me again. his hands roams down to grab my ass, while mine rest on his jaw. i feel his hands moving around, trying to find the zipper of my dress. i tense up, and pull away from him.
"i'm sorry, i'm gonna go. you're super nice, i just don't think i can do this." i say, standing up. his expression immediately turns angry.
"are you serious? you might be hot as fuck, but you're such a fucking tease." he says, storming out of the room, leaving me standing by the bed. i'm definitely not in the mood to party anymore, so i text micah and tell him that i'm going to hang out in his room until the party is over.
his response is immediate: what happened with that guy? i text him and tell him to come upstairs so we can talk about it in person. i head to micah's room, and immediately grab one of his sweatshirts to change into. as i'm taking off my dress, micah walks into his room. i feel his eyes scanning my body. i'm not really nervous changing in front of him anymore, mostly because we've done it so many times growing up and i know he won't judge me.
"so what happened?" he asks, laying down on his bed, still staring at me.
"i just got scared. you know how it is." i shrug, going into his bathroom to take my makeup off with the makeup remover i keep in there. micah and i are very open with each other, including our sex lives, or my lack thereof. he knows that i always get too scared to do anything when i'm with a guy. i know that he hooks up with girls pretty frequently.
"who was the guy? i'd didn't recognize him." micah asks.
"alex jacobs. he said he's from kingston." i say as i lay down next to him on the bed.
"did he freak out on you?" he asks, playing with my hair. i shake my head.
"no, he just called me a tease and stormed back downstairs." i groan. micah laughs.
"don't feel bad. he sounds like an asshole anyway." he says. he stands up and starts changing his clothes, putting on a pair of black sweatpants and leaving his upper half shirtless. he crawls back into his bed next to me.
"aren't you going to go back down to the party?" i ask, confused. it's his own birthday party, and it's not even that late. it's just past midnight.
"i'd rather stay up here. it's kinda boring, and i'm tired. i already told reece and boston to kick everyone out before i came up here to talk to you." the music did get quieter, and lot of cars have been going down the street.
i hum in agreement and i move so that my head is laying on his chest and he wraps his arms around me. micah turns on his tv and opens netflix. we decide to watch shameless for a while, but we both fall asleep within minutes.
