Bridget had been on her own since she was 15 years old. Her mother had died 2 and a half years ago when her mother's boyfriend while driving intoxicated, had hit another car head on. Bridget, afraid of her mother's surviving boyfriend receiving custody over her, set off towards Denver to try to survive on her own in the big city.
