016. (so here it is)

Start from the beginning

Olivia and my family haven't heard the new and longer version of my song. The lyrics are deeper than before and since my family literally know nothing about my situation with Landon except for the fact that we dated, I wanted to explain it to them and everyone else through this song.

"Ok guys the song is about to drop." I told them.

"Let's do a countdown." Tilly suggested, we all nodded in response.

"Three!"

"Two!"

"One!"

"ITS HEREE! Play it!" Aissata said excitedly.

We had all the speaker system ready and we were all seated in the lounge. I pressed play and the song started playing throughout the room.

"I got my driver's license last week
>Just like we always talked about
Cause you were so excited for me
To finally drive up to your house
But today I drove through the suburbs
>Crying cause you weren't around."

As the song started off, Olivia had noticed that lyric change and mouthed a 'not bad' to me. Her jaw instantly dropped as she listened to the specific lyric that i changed.

">And you probably with that brunette girl
>Who always made me doubt
She was so much closer to me
But now she's everything I'm insecure about
Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs
>Cause how could I love someone else."

"Honey, you didn't hold back and I'm proud of you." My mom said.

"Thanks mom, I'm glad you like it." I answered.

"Landon and Charli's phones finna be on silent after they listen to this." Aissata laughed out.

Tilly and Olivia were so invested in the song at this point, they weren't even speaking. Just listening.

"And I know we weren't perfect
But I've never felt this way for no one
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay
Now that I'm gone
>Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me
>Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street."

Olivia looked at me with a confused expression on her face.

"You changed it? I thought you loved that lyric." She asked me.

"I did and I still do but I'm trying to hit him where it hurts, because he wrote a song about me." I explained to her.

"And all my friends are tired of hearing how much I miss you but
I kinda feel sorry for them
'Cause they'll never know you the way that i do
'Yeah today I drive through the suburbs
And pictured I was driving home to you"

"Yikes." Edward said. That was literally the only thing he said about that verse.

"I agree with Edward." my mom said.

"You are absolutely right about the first line." Olivia said, I sent her a glare.

"I'm joking, you can pour your heart out to me any day."
