So make your study of the night

So make your study of the night

I have been dead, it is, for half my life

in daylight’s clutch and death.

And the night is the great rejuvenator,

the vehicle of rebirth, of rest.

My one regret is looking east

while the sun sets in the west.

There’s a dizziness accompanies me

from too long motionless.

Still, they say the day is full of good.

I have misunderstood this thing.

So make your study of the night

and tell me if I am right.
