Summary Of Previous Chapter: Reporting back to the Druids about the Dark Rider & The Pandorian Cracks noticed by Alex, Fripp draws a board and links down all the details, something not seeming right. Coming to the conclusion that this is deeper and much bigger than you all thought, Fripp declares that he would like you and the Soul Riders to sleep in his Lare as Jorvik's changes have been increased dangerously. During the night, you and Linda encounter a break-in from two Dark Riders attempting to and successfully chipping away the Stone Circles.

Since last night I had tried to stay with as many people as I could. It was peak season for summer camp now, but with the amount of upset and looky horses I had to deal with daily was starting to feed into everyone. As staff, we had all come together and decided that doing the minimal amount of riding for the younger kids was best. We had then gone onto discussing the change in the island, and by having to act clueless and purely stupid, there was not much I could say.

I finished grooming the school pony which I had been for the past fifteen minutes before returning her back into her field, waiting for her to prance off with her friends. Instead, she stood there, neck high and ears forward, frozen and tense. I urged her on, only after a minute watching her trot off hesitantly into the fields. I sighed, pulling out my phone and checking the time. It was now near evening and camp would be ending soon as I had planned to go to the Circus tonight; and later on this weekend as Ydris was planning a performance. I dawdled back into the sleeping accommodations before laying on my bed and scrolling on my phone, trying to calm my shoulders and mind as I laid there, feeling the felt of dread again.

When the weekend arrived, I thought that would bring a sense of relief into me, but instead, I was planning on arriving early at the Circus grounds so I could gather information and sense. Over two days, more and more spikes of info had entered our way. After a few nights, Fripp had managed to put a spell over the sacred runes, trying his best to hide the fresh fear in his face when he had seen them. The way his shoulders had dropped and how his hands had gone limp and the determined look had just walked away into a deep pit in his stomach stung. We shared that feeling, and now more suspicion was raised when I had mentioned certain areas of the island feeling different; Silverglade, Valedale, Everwind Fields, and Nilmers. I felt that something was off at the Circus and noting Ydris's distracted looks recently, I felt guilty that I was accusing him of something when I could be highly imagining it. But the night from a few weeks prior stuck with me. I knew very well that the Dark Rider had rode across the Circus and had had interaction on those grounds; either Ydris was in his moments, or he knew and just didn't tell me. I didn't feel that he had anything to do with this, but that night had been a starred part of our board, nothing added up and nothing made sense. If I could prove to myself that he was just busy and needed time, then I could relax a bit, especially after being accused many times of things from the Druids.

Getting closer to the Circus I was surprised not to see a single person in line. I could hear the noise echoing from the tent as it beat against the wall, providing a sound against the cool silent summer air. I checked the time and if anything, I was fifteen minutes early. I swallowed, quickly scurrying up and standing behind a tree, starting my mission to prove to myself, and the others that Ydris had nothing to do with this.

I eyed the grounds, holding my breath before I did an awkward run past the wagon, ducking just in case someone was in there as I tried to find the best place to watch and hide.

You are being absolutely ridiculous.

I immediately flew towards the cages which were seated on the ground, seeing rusted and unused, quickly sitting down and positioning myself so I was fairly hidden. I placed a hand over my mouth to stop my loud breathing when the wagon door swung open, catching me by surprise as Ydris stepped out, adjusting his shirt and sleeves. I watched as stopped and rolled them up, his attention going to the tent flap which opened to reveal Xin, obnoxious voices pouring out from behind him. I continued to watch them, a moment of stupidity and realisation over me as I heard Xin say something, Ydris replying in no other than French. I cursed myself, trying to recall my past studies of the language. I tried to tune in, but with the urgency in their voices, the speed, and my own blood pumping in my ears I couldn't make out anything. I closed my eyes, trying to calm my anxiety which knocked hard on my chest, removing my hand from my mouth and taking a silent deep breath in, forcing myself to listen. They chatted, or more snapped at one another before Xin put both of his hands up in the air, surrendering to whatever Ydris was telling him. I smirked when I heard him call Xin a moron and plenty of other names in such a small sentence. I waited for a response but only heard what seemed like cursing from Ydris before he said something again, two words sticking out ot me. I paused, my body shutting down any hope as I took in what he had said.
