If You Could See Me Now...:

If you could see me now would you be proud of the person I am

You always told me to go and make my own way

Not to look back

But it's hard when you are the one who is back in the way I look back

The Five years have been a long time not to have you in my life.

You held this family together

Without you we have fallen apart

Half of the family now don't speak

You were the Glue

You missed so much in our lives

I am about to graduate- would you have been proud to see me do this?

I would have loved you to have been there

To see the girl you raised become a woman

So as I sit in the darkness of my bedroom, I look at the photo I have of you on my wall

And I smile

Because you were the one who gave me the start in my life that I needed

You made me the woman I am

You taught me not to stop believeing in myself

And I haven't because I want you to be proud of me

As I was of you

To have had you in my life I was the lucky one

I miss you every day but I know you are looking down on me

Smiling that I have made you proud if only you could see me now....
