One Year To The Day:

It's been one year to the day since you told me that you loved me.

One year to the day I woke up with you beside me, with your arms around me I felt safe.

My Darling, how did it go so wrong?

I was a woman who loved you.

Would have given you my heart

But through me giving it to you, you tore it apart.

My heart is still there in tiny little pieces One year to the day

The words you shouted at me on the corner that night

You wonder why I walked away

Those words like bullets ripping into my soul

I thought I knew you, I don't anymore

But my darling if you had said a word to me.

Followed me

I would have fallen into your arms

Forgiven you.

But you didn't

I am still hurting

My sweet man we have been through too much

Can we go back to how we were?

Because just having you in my life even as friends is so much more that now.

I miss your words, your smell, your taste.

I miss you telling me I was strong and that I could take on the world.
