Chapter 15: A Surprise Date for Amber

Alberto got on his brown hat wore a bow tie. "How do I look?" Alberto asked James and Santiago. "Maybe lose the bow tie," James told him as Alberto took it off. "Perfect!" James said, giving Alberto a thumbs up. "Amber's almost ready," Sofia said. "Silenzio Bruno, silenzio bruno," Alberto told himself in a soft tone. "Nervous?" James asked Alberto. "A little," Alberto chuckled. The group of boys went up to the treehouse where everything was prepped and prepared. James ran down to check on Sofia and Amber. "What's this all about?" Amber asked her stepsister. "Don't worry, you'll see," Sofia beamed. "Alright alright,"Amber said. Sofia put on Amber's crown and adjusted it. "There. Perfect!" Sofia said. "You look great Amber," James told her. "Psst," Santiago called out to James, giving him a thumbs up, signaling that everything was ready for the surprise date. Jake and Alberto waited for Alberto to see Amber. "Hey Jake. Thanks for helping me out. Amber's lucky to have a friend like you," Alberto told Jake as Jake sheepishly grinned. "Alberto we're ready for you," James said. Alberto breathed a sigh saying Silenzio Bruno in his head multiple times. When Alberto walked in and saw Amber, he didn't know what to say. Amber was wearing a light blue dress with short flowy sleeves of the same color. She also wore white shoes and a sparkly silver bow in her hair. Amber grinned and blushed, thinking her boyfriend looked handsome, too. Alberto wore his brown hat with a dark red bow tie. He still wore the same outfit he always does. He also wore brown flip flops. They both stared at each other for quite a while. "We'll leave you two to yourselves," Sofia winked at Amber. The group left and let Amber and Alberto be. "Ahem...you look...um..." Alberto stuttered. "Pretty?" Amber asked him. "Exactly!" Alberto chuckled. Amber knew something was going on. "Okay Mr. Sneaky, what's going on?" Amber teased. "We'll princess, you're about to find out. Follow me," Alberto said to Amber. "Madame?" Alberto held out his hand as Amber took it. "Thank you kind sir," she replied and curtsied. They made it to the backyard. "Before anything happens, I need you to close your eyes." Alberto told Amber. "Okay okay," Amber said, closing her eyes. Alberto took her hand and led her up to the treehouse. "Okay now open," Alberto said. Amber looked up and saw a cute little table set up with streamer lights. Amber was in awe. "Oh Alberto, this is beautiful," Amber said. "Not as beautiful as you," he mumbled. He took her hand and sat her down on a pillow and he sat down on a pillow as well. Machiavelli popped up, balancing two bowls of pasta on his head and tail, setting it down in front of them. He curled up in Amber's lap, purring away. Amber and Alberto chatted for quite a while. After they finished their pasta, Amber and Alberto had one long noodle left. They both took it and started eating it getting closer to each other's faces and then they kissed. They separated as Amber laid her head on Alberto's shoulder. "This is the best date night ever," Amber said. "It's not over yet," Alberto told her. "What do you mean?" Amber asked. "Let's go to my tower and I'll show you," Alberto said. Amber and Alberto took Massimo's boat to Alberto's tower of Isle Del Mar. When they arrived, Alberto and Amber both went in the tower. "Wait here," Alberto said shaking himself off. Amber waited for a couple minutes. "You can come up now," he motioned to Amber. Amber went up the ladder and saw even something more beautiful. The ocean and the night sky reflecting off of it. "Wow!" Amber was amazed. Alberto blushed and hugged his girlfriend around the waist. "Told ya it was beautiful as you," he teased as Amber smiled. That's when Amber took Alberto by the hand and they started dancing. Alberto paused. "I've never danced before," he chuckled. Amber took his hand. "I can teach you," she said as Alberto had a smug look on his face. They started to sing:

They stopped dancing and touched noses. "Amber, I have a gift for you," Alberto told her. "Oh?" Amber said. Alberto did a magic trick and pulled out a clam shell. There read a note that said 'open it,' and Amber did. She gasped. It was a pearl ring Alberto made for her. "It's so beautiful," Amber said. "It's a promise ring," Alberto said to her. "It's perfect," Amber said. Then she looked sad. "What's wrong?" Alberto asked her. "Nothing, it's just...what if I don't see you again? I am a princess and your..." "A sea monster, I know," Alberto frowned. But then he thought of something and smiled. "You could live with me, Luca, Giulia, and Massimo," Alberto suggested. "That's very sweet of you Alberto," Amber said. "But I have royal duties to attend to. You're welcome to join me," Amber said. Alberto grinned. "Hey just always know, I'm not in your mind but in your heart. The promise ring is a symbol of our relationship," Alberto said, lifting up Amber's chin. "You'll always be a princess to me," Alberto smiled. Amber grew teary eyed and gave Alberto a big hug. "I love you Alberto," Amber said. "I love you too, princess," he said and hugged her back. Just then fireworks lit up the sky. Amber was amazed. "Surprise!" Alberto said. Amber cried happy tears as she ran and kissed Alberto and Alberto kissed her back.

Meanwhile down in Portorosso, Jake stood on Bucky and watched the fireworks light up the sky. He smiled. He felt happy for Amber and Alberto. They made a great couple. Just then, Jake heard noises. He looked around. "Sofia?" he asked. Then Jake fell backwards and twirled around. "Ciao pirate." It was Ercole. Jake pushed him off. "What do you want?" Jake asked him. "Don't you remember our deal? I get the girl and we get the sea monster! We can have all the riches in the world!" Ercole said. Jake rubbed his arm and frowned. "You're not growing soft on that sea monster, are you?" Ercole asked Jake. "Nope! Not at all!" Jake chuckled. "Good. The plan happens tonight!" Ercole said. "Tonight right got it," Jake said. Ercole gave Jake a harpoon. "Weapon of choice! Don't fail me," Ercole said, disappearing into the shadows. "Right," Jake said. He held onto the harpoon and gulped nervously.
