"Aether please!" I begged as tears ran down my cheeks. "Please don't leva me here alone! Not again!"

My brother pushed me off of his leg, causing me to land on my rips agains a railing. I coughed as he began to walk over to me.

He pinched my face together as he made me look at him.

"Aether! Please... please don't leave again.." I whimpered as his eyes held nothing towards me. He suddenly gave me a strange smile. One I had never seen before.

"I apologize, dear sister, but I can't stay with you right now. 'Aether' is still making this work pay for what it did to me, what it will do to you." He pushed me as he chuckled those last words. I felt my body began to fall. He pushed me over the railing. He threw me away like unwanted rubbish. I suppose I'm no different than rubbish after all.

I felt my heart shatter as my shoulders connected with the body of water below me.

My shoulders stung, but I couldn't care. The pain in my shoulders was nothing compared to the pain in my chest. I watched the light from the moon grow dimmer as my body sank to the bottom of the lake. Water began to fill my lungs as my eyes felt heavy.

Suddenly, arms wrapped around my waist. My body bent as the person pulled me to the surface.

I coughed as I could breathe again. I felt my body be leaned against a solid chest. I slowly opened my eyes to see a lone adeptus hugging me tightly.

I couldn't build up the courage to look at him while he held onto my cold body for dear life.

"Why wouldn't you try to save yourself?.." He asked me as he gently caressed my cheek. I felt tears weld up in my eyes until they began to fall.

"I don't have the strength." I told him. "My brother, Xiao.. I never thought he'd try to get rid of me like that."

"Lumine, he tried to kill you." He truthfully told me.

"I know, Xiao! I just.. I don't want to believe it!" I sobbed as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He sighed into my shoulder as he held onto my cold body. I sobbed as he attempted to comfort me.
