I thought hard and I heard them talking "shush" I say and they begin to whisper "big deal she just closed her eyes" Lucas said. Beside me and the lightbulb above me went out "woah" they all say "and that's when clanging is on the radio "what is that ?" Dustin asked "Mom !" Will shouted "no way.." Lucas said "Mom !!" Lucas shouted and the radio burst into flames and an alarm when off "woah" Dustin said and used the fire extinguisher.
"So where's will ?" Mike asked "its like our world but it's dark covered in black vines the sky it's red and empty.. cold..upside down" I say to them "what did she say ?" Lucas asked
"when Sidney showed us where will was she flipped the board upside down dark empty" Mike says "do you understand what he's talking about ?" Lucas asked Dustin "No" he simply states "guys come on just think about it when el and Sidney took us to find will it was at his houses" mikes says "but he wasn't" Lucas says "but what if he was what if we just couldn't see him what if he was on the other side what if this is Hawkins and this is where will is the upside down" Mike says flipping the board over "like the vail of shadows.." Dustin says .
THE NEXT DAY
Mike pierced the pencil threw the paper and el flinched "it would take a lot of energy to build a gate like this THATS gotta be what happened otherwise how would will get there right ?" Mike says "right" El agrees confused "what we wanna know is if you know where that gate is" and she shakes her head "then how do you know about the upside down ?!" Lucas asked "Dustin what are you doing Dustin ?!" Lucas and Mike say "I need to see your compasses all of them quick !" Dustin says "what's exciting about this ?" Mike asks as Dustin sets them out on the table "well there all facing north right ?" Dustin said "yeah so ?" Lucas asked "That's not true north are you both seriously this Dense ?" Dustin asked "the sun rises in the east and it sets in the west right which means that's true north" Dustin said "right so your saying there broken ?" Mike asked "do you even understand a compass ?" Dustin asked "do you'd re a Barrie in this no you don't because it doesn't need one it's drawn to the earths metal" he said "so what's wrong with them ?" Lucas asked "I don't know but that's when I figured out that you can change the directions of a compass with a magnet which is a more powerful field so the needle deflects to that power and then I remember what time Clark said the gate would have so much power" Dustin says
"it would distract an electro magnetic field.." Mike realised "exactly" Dustin tells us "meaning if we follow the compasses north..?" Lucas says "they should lead us to the gate" Dustin said
I looked at el and she began to act weird "you okay ?" I ask and she nods and I continue walking but keep my eye on her maybe she was sick . We got to a junk yard and I heard Dustin say "oh no" "oh no ?" Lucas asked "what's oh no ?" Lucas asked "we're heading back home" he said "are you sure ?" Lucas checked "yes that hill over there we right back round" Dustin says
"so your just realising this right now ?!" Lucas asked annoyed "why is this all on me ?" Dustin asked "because your the compass genius" Lucas said "it makes no god damn sense " Dustin said "maybe the gate moved" Mike said "no I don't think it's the gate I think it's something else screwing with the compasses" Dustin said "maybe it's something here" Mike said "no it has to be like a super magnet" Dustin said
